Deportivo will probably have three casualties for the first game in liga: Diogo Salomão, Manuel Pablo and Lucas Pérez. The injuries have been a constant factor during the current pre-season.

Coach Víctor Fernández has faced many problems with the injuries during the pre-season. Up to seven men were out injured when the team was playing in Portugal and it has affected the integration of the team during this stage, which is an important problem taking in mind the large number of signings that need to adapt.

Just to mention the case of winger Isaac Cuenca, who was able to debut with Depor until last weekend in the Teresa Herrera. He seemed out of form, though in the last friendly against RC Celta the ex-Barca winger showed interesting things.

Now, with the debut in liga only one week away, the coach is facing a more stable situation, though there are three players that will probably miss the opening matchday against Granada CF: right-back Manuel Pablo plus wingers Diogo Salomão and Lucas Pérez.

Salomão arrived injured during the transfer window after he suffered a knee injury on last Segunda season during a game against Hércules CF. The Portuguese will join the trainings with the group on next month, though it’s expected that he will play until November.

Bad luck for Lucas Pérez
Lucas has faced a nightmare during the month he has spent at Deportivo. He suffered a muscle injury during his first day of trainings, problem that sidelined him from the games in Colombia and Portugal. He debuted in the Teresa Herrera final, but one day later he felt a strong pain on the left thigh; the scans confirmed a grade one quadriceps muscle injury. Normally it needs two weeks to heal, so the player is doubtful for the debut in liga.

In the case of Manuel Pablo, he only lasted 29 minutes on the pitch during the game against Sporting Gijón; the scans also confirmed a grade one muscle injury and therefore the Canarian veteran is also doubtful for the opening matchday in liga.
