Víctor Fernández will have three casualties for the opening matchday in liga, including new signing Lucas Pérez. The rival is now coached by Caparrós and will miss two regular starters.

The debut of Deportivo in liga takes place on Saturday visiting Granada CF (Los Cármenes, 21h00 CET). New coach Víctor Fernández has faced several injury cases during the pre-season, though for the match in Andalusia he will only have three casualties: right-back Manuel Pablo (thigh), plus wingers Lucas Pérez (quadriceps) and Diogo Salomão (knee).

Centre-back Albert Lopo was dealing with some muscle problems at the beginning of the week, reason why he didn’t complete the first training of the week, but by Tuesday he was already fine and will be available for the match.

The last signing of the team is centre midfielder Haris Medunjanin, the Bosnian is training with the first squad since Friday and has options to play the game; actually he was tested as a possible starter during Tuesday’s session.

Víctor has ruled out five players for the season: full-back Diego Seoane, playmaker Juan Carlos, winger Rudy, plus attackers Javier Arizmendi and Borja Bastón. These four men train with the rest of the group, but during the tactical session they begin to work apart (together with the keepers).

The exception is Seoane, who was taking part of the test for the game during Tuesday and Wednesday’s sessions. Meanwhile, Rudy skipped Wednesday’s session. It seems he’s already negotiating his exit from the club. During the week three Fabril’s players were part of the training sessions: left-back Jorge Fernández, playmaker Marcos Remeseiro and centre-back Iago López.

At Granada CF, new coach Joaquín Caparrós is having mixed news ahead of the debut in liga. Goalkeeper Roberto Fernández and midfielder Francisco Medina 'Piti' are both suspended for the game. Normally La Liga cleans the yellow cards at the beginning of the seasons, but in this opportunity it didn’t happen and both men picked a fifth yellow card in the last game of the previous campaign visiting Real Valladolid.

Roberto was the starting goalkeeper on last season (34 games), while Piti was the second best scorer at the team (5 goals). Also, the centre-back from Granada B, Sulayman Marreh, who has been playing with the team during the pre-season, is out due to a hamstring problem. The weird case is centre-back Pape Diakhaté, who has been declared “rebel” for not showing up to the training sessions. It was reported that he was negotiating with a couple of Turkish clubs.

At the same time Caparrós is recovering players that were injured in recent weeks. Colombian centre-back Jeison Murillo was a key piece on last season and has been sidelined within the last two weeks due to a knee sprain, but he joined the trainings on this week and should be available for Saturday.

The other players that were dragging physical problems were playmaker Rubén Rochina (hamstring) and centre midfielder Javi Márquez (ankle). There were doubts regarding their participation in the game against Deportivo, but the first player will join the trainings on Thursday and the second did it on Wednesday, so they and will be available for the meetings against the Galicians.

The last signing of the club, Colombian striker Jhon Córdoba, will be available for the game, while the Andalusians are searching for a new centre-back and a new left-back. It isn’t probable that any of both signings can occur before the match against Depor.
