Postiga and Canella won’t play against Valencia CF, so the number of casualties for the game is now four. Cuenca and Insua are available for the coach, while Negredo won’t travel to the Riazor.

The doctors at Deportivo were expecting to reduce the number of casualties at the team, but it wasn’t possible as striker Hélder Postiga and left-back Roberto Canella didn’t surpass their hamstring problems. The Portuguese completed part of some training sessions at the beginning of the week, but didn’t have good feelings and by the end of the week he was already sidelined. In the case of the Asturian defender, he joined the trainings on Wednesday and neither had good sensations.

In this way there are four casualties for Sunday’s game against Valencia CF (Riazor, 17h00 CET), the other two are winger Diogo Salomão (knee) and centre midfielder Juan Dominguez (hamstring). The Portuguese player is training with the group and will be cleared to play in November; in the case of the Galician man he should join the trainings on next week.

In the other hand, winger Isaac Cuenca (Ischialgia) received the medical okay to play and is available for the coach. Goalkeeper German Lux (finger sprain) joined the work on Tuesday, while playmaker Luis Fariña is also available despite picking a knock during Wednesday’s first session.

The three international players returned without major novelties. Centre-back Pablo Insua is fit to play and completed Thursday’s session without any problem, same situation of attacker Iván Cavaleiro, who is already recovered from the head blow suffered with U-21 Portugal. In the case of Bosnian Haris Medunjanin, the midfielder joined the trainings on Wednesday.

Finally, two field players from the academy trained with the first team during the week, both are strikers: Juvenil A Pancho Cotos and Fabril Dani Iglesias. Both trained with the team on Thursday. Fabril’s keeper Rafael Veloso also trained with Manu Sotelo, the keeper’s trainer.

At Valencia CF, the confidence is strong after the solid start completed by the team coached by Nuno Espirito Santo. One of the keys is that the squad has been barely affected by the injuries. And it’s that only three men have lost a game so far due to injury reasons. And on this week they are recovering the last man that was sidelined: Álvaro Negredo.

The striker arrived during the summer window with a toe fracture and hasn’t played yet in liga and on this week he received the medical okay to play, but Nuno already decided that it’s too soon for him and already told to the media that the Tottenham’s loanee won’t be picked for the meeting at the Riazor.

Nuno has been busier trying to recover the international players, after all eight men were out within the last week as they were playing with their national teams: Paco Alcácer and Rodrigo Moreno (Spain), Rubén Vezo and Jose Luis Gayà (U-21 Spain), André Gomes (Portugal), Nicolás Otamendi (Argentina), Shkodran Mustafi (Germany) and Sofiane Feghouli (Algeria). Six of these man are normal starters and the worst cases are centre-back Otamendi and attacker Feghouli, duo that will join the trainings until Friday.
