Two away victories are changing the picture at the bottom places. Granada CF are the new bottom club in la liga, while Córdoba CF are out of the drop zone for the first time on the season.

There were four draws in this matchday and in five of the other six games the scores meant narrow wins. Only three clubs managed a two-goal difference, and those three clubs are currently occupying a place in Champions League.  However the attention was focused in the surprising results at the bottom.

The biggest score was the one achieved by Real Madrid hosting RCD Espanyol (3-0).The Madrilenians are about to end the first round at the first place. Meanwhile FC Barcelona achieved an important 3-1 win over Atletico Madrid, which opens a gap of three points between the second and the third place.

Sevilla CF were the other club with a two-goal victory. Los Rojiblancos defeated neighbors UD Almeria on the road (0-2) and returned to Champions League seats after Valencia CF could only get a 1-1 draw visiting RC Celta at Balaídos.

The Galicians finally broke the negative streak of five straight defeats and finally found the goal after 725 minutes scoreless, which is the third worst streak in the history of Primera División. Villarreal CF and Málaga CF remain in their positions after a 1-1 draw at La Rosaleda, while SD Eibar are now only six points below the European seats after a convincing 1-2 victory visiting RCD Espanyol.

The attention was focused in the fight to survive. There were two big surprises at the bottom. Elche CF brought one of these surprises thanks to their 1-2 win visiting Athletic Club, while the second was the victory of Córdoba CF at Rayo Vallecano (0-1). The Andalusians are out of relegation for the first time on the season.

Deportivo and Levante UD starred the lonely goalless draw on the weekend. Granada CF is the new last place as the Andalusians extended their winless streak to fourteen matches after they only managed to get a 1-1 draw hosting Real Sociedad. They are now the fifth team on this season that has spent at least one matchday as the bottom club (the other four were Elche CF, Levante UD, Deportivo and Córdoba CF).
