Fede Cartabia signs for Depor. The winger/playmaker was linked a few weeks ago with the club, the operation seemed frozen, but on Thursday the Galicians agreed a loan spell with Valencia CF.

Federico ‘Fede´ Nicolás Cartabia is the next signing of Deportivo. The 22-year-old winger/playmaker was out of the plans of Nuno at Valencia CF. Some clubs at Primera, like UD Las Palmas and Deportivo, wanted him, but the operation was frozen as long as the coach hadn’t made his decision about his possible participation in the next league season.

Deportivo are looking for offensive players and Cartabia represents the profile that Víctor Sánchez likes as he can perform on both wings and also on the playmaking function. And the decision of Nuno arrived this week as the player was told that he should leave during the pre-season stage of Los Ches in Germany.

The Galicians were aware of the news and moved fast to secure a loan spell for one season. The deal was official on Thursday and the player is expected to arrive during the weekend and should make the medicals on Monday.

Cartabia joined Valencia CF when he was 13, the Argentine debuted for the B team at Tercera División for the season 2012/13 and only one season later debuted with the first team during a liga game against Málaga CF (August 17, 2013).

Last season Cartabia was loaned to Córdoba CF, the team had a terrible campaign and was relegated to Segunda, but the player had solid numbers in his 30 appearances for the team (2,168 minutes, 4 goals and 5 assists)

Deportivo have now made ten signings ahead of the season 2015/16, before the Galician club made other nine incorporations: left-backs Saúl García and Fernando Navarro, right-back Juanfran Moreno, centre-backs Alejandro Arribas and Sidnei, centre midfielder Pedro Mosquera, playmakers Luis Alberto and Cani, plus striker Oriol Riera. The club also completed the renewals of centre midfielder Juan Dominguez and right-back Manuel Pablo.
