Deportivo spent the fourth week of the pre-season in Manchester and Wales; it played two friendly games, both goalless draws, and completed five training sessions.

Víctor Sánchez Del Amo wanted to change the pace and environment for the fourth week in the pre-season, so Deportivo traveled to the United Kingdom in order to play two friendly matches. The pace of the training sessions was also reduced, starting with the fact that there were only five sessions during the week.

The first training on the week was the only one held at Abegondo; it was on Monday and it was the most intense session of the period. That same day the team traveled to Porto and from there it took a plane to Manchester. Then it completed three training sessions at hotel Mottram Hall (the hotel has a football pitch).

The first was held on Tuesday and it was a tactical session with the team making 2v2 and 3v3 exercises, on Wednesday the session was soft as on that same day the team faced Huddersfield Town FC, match that ended goalless and that was played with the major part of the academy players in the roster as starters.

On Thursday there was a recovery session at the hotel and one day later the team traveled to Wales in order to meet Swansea City. On the same Friday the team trained at the Swansea’s sporting city (Swansea Sports Centre). It was a new tactical sessions with the players working the set-pieces.

The week ended for Deportivo on Saturday after the 0-0 before Swansea, after the game ended the players returned to Coruña and Víctor gave them two days to rest. The team will return to train on Tuesday and will start the last stretch of the pre-season.

Manuel Pablo was the only player that remained out; he worked at Abegondo while the team was on the road and will continue sidelined for another three weeks. Juanfran sustained an injury on Saturday, but the club hasn’t made any statement about his condition. Cani and Pedro Mosquera joined the group and already had their first minutes with the team, while Dani Iglesias was released.

Deportivo completed the UK tour with 23 players, including academy players David Gómez, Róber, Corredera, Cardoso and Óscar García. The club hasn’t informed yet if these five lads will continue making the pre-season with the first team.

New signing Fede Cartabia will join the team on Tuesday, midfielder Sam Piette should also join the pre-season on that day, though the Canadian is close to go out loaned to Racing de Ferrol. Finally, Celso Borges will join the team during next weekend, just when Depor will be facing SC Braga during the Teresa Herrera.
