Mixed feelings at Depor after the draw against Granada. The coach and the players know that it is important to add, but at the same time felt that the team could have added the three points.

Coach Víctor Sánchez had mixing feelings after the draw, “We are content with the result, at the same time the feeling that we have is that we have dropped two points. I believe we have made the game that interested us: managing the situation before the rival and facing a problem as the field was dry, which gave us problems to pass the ball and it was a condition to the game.”

“We claimed the lead and had very clear opportunities to score the second, but the law that rules football is effectiveness. We didn’t have it to score the second and had a comfortable situation for us and, in an isolated play after the shot that Piti smashed into the woodwork, they equalized. After that they didn’t have clear scoring chances. We kept our scheme playing with two attackers trying to handle the counterattack and the set-pieces. There were alternatives in the last frame of the game, but without clear chances for both teams.” He added.

The Madrilenian emphasized the defensive work of his team and remembered that Depor has spent five months undefeated playing on the road, “Again we are content with our defensive work, because we conceded little things to the rival, and it is a pity that a situation that wasn’t cleared by the team ended penalizing us with a goal. But we are content with our work and will continue developing. We haven’t lost on the road since April and that’s a good stat.”

He was also explaining why the third modification wasn’t made, “Arribas was having muscle issues within the last ten minutes and we tried to be careful, so we saved the last change if it was necessary to replace him. It was only for that.”

Finally, Víctor continued with the speech that nothing is done yet as Depor continue to live within the first positions, “We are thankful to the fans for making the trip until here. It is impressive and we thank them. We try to correspond offering a victory. It is the best thing we can do with them. That’s the debate in the outside, within the team we know that we must continue going. We cannot think that we have achieved things, because nothing is decided. The standings are circumstantial right now.”

Perhaps the player that explained better the feelings after the game was Pedro Mosquera, “There’s a bittersweet taste after the game. We had three points, then they had one or two chances and shot to end scoring. I do believe that we were superior to Granada.”

And the Galician midfielder is optimistic regarding the future, “We have twelve points and we want more. The team is working and unfortunately the break is negative for us, because we were physically and mentally strong.”

Defender Alejandro Arribas wasn’t too content with the result, “They didn’t have clear occasions unless the long-distance shot by Piti that hit the post. The game was favorable to pick up the three points and it escaped from us in that bad clearance.”

The centre-back was feeling sorry for the occasions to increase the lead, “In the first half we had very clear opportunities, in the second half there was a chance in which you only needed to push the ball in. We tried, but in the end it is good to keep adding.”

Midfielder Fayçal Fajr was satisfied with the point added in the visit to Los Cármenes, “We are going out after adding a point despite we came here for the three points, but it is good for us to continue in la liga.”

The Moroccan man scored his second goal of the season and commented the issue, “This was my second goal in the year, but the important thing is that we added a point. In a general sense I am content with my second goal here. “

For Laure the point added is positive, “We must be positive: it’s a complicate game facing a direct rival. It’s always important to add on the road. Their goal was a physiological thing, we saw that we were superior, we had clear opportunities and felt comfortable. In the end a play with a rebound ended with the equalizer and you end with a bittersweet taste.”

At Granada CF, coach José Ramón Sandoval was content with the final score, “The important thing was to break the negative streak at home taking in mind that in front there was a Deportivo in European places, with a lot of goals in favour and only a few allowed.”

“I would have loved the victory and offer another impression to the fans, but the point is that we competed until this moment against teams that are in a very high level; the team got an important point today after the bleeding of the previous games and it is what we have done.” He added.
