REVIEW: FABRIL 3 – BERGANTIÑOS 1 (TERCERA)

19 Oct 2015
Depor B returned to winning ways thanks to the connection Otero-Óscar. It was an entertaining game with several chances to score in which the punch of Depor’s lads prevailed.

BEFORE THE GAME
Goalkeeper David Gómez was picked by the first team, so Anxo Pérez returned to the starting eleven. Strikers Borja Domingo and Marcos Legaz were injured and Ben Fisk arrived late from international action, so once again the only available natural centre forward was Juan Otero

The draw was a 4-2-3-1. Anxo was the keeper, Quique Fornos returned from Juvenil A and played at the right side in defense, Jorge Fernández performed on the left, the centre-backs were Iago López and Róber Suárez. Edu Expósito and Santi Taboada were the centre midfielders, Otero was the right winger, Álex Corredera attacked from the left, Pancho Cotos was the playmaker and Óscar Garcia was the centre forward.

The rival was Bergantiños CF, team tat’s living a poor start to the season after only winning one of the first eight matches. The team coached by Javier Oreiro is full of ex-Fabril players, four of them were starters: Borja Facal, Aarón Rama, David García and Álex Pérez.

THE MATCH
Victory for Deportivo B in an entertaining game that was decided thanks to the punch of Mosquera’s boys and also thanks to the connection Otero-Óscar. Bergantiños CF had its opportunities, but they only scored once and hit the posts twice to continue living in relegation.

The game had an explosive start, with Depor B having a two-goal lead almost by accident and after only fifteen minutes. It all started with a big error between Álex Pérez and goalkeeper Christopher Pallás, a bad pass that Juan Otero only had to push in. It’s the first goal for the Colombian during this season.

Only eight minutes later the locals doubled the advantage in a penalty action after Sergio Lista fouled Corredera inside the area. Óscar ‘Pinchi’ scored from the spot his sixth goal of the season. And the third could have arrived one minute later with a new chance for Óscar that the winger sent wide.

And from the possible 3-0 the game passed to a 2-1 score, this after Bergantiños CF seized a counterattack to see Roberto Piñeiro assisting Álex Pérez and the ex-Fabril scored the goal in a one-on-one action before Anxo.

The rest of the first part was an equal game with both sides having chances to score. Bergantiños was close to equalize through a header by Roberto Piñeiro that missed the target and especially with a shot by Álex Pérez that hit the woodwork. Fabril pressed within the final minutes and Álex Corredera was close to score with a direct free-kick that passed close to the post and later with a low shot by Otero that missed the target.

The connection Óscar-Otero was the best from the game, but Bergantiños was the side that pushed within the first minutes in the second part, the equalizer was close to arrive after the free-kick of David Garcia was connected by Álex Canedo and the ball hit the post.

Bergantiños was deserving the reward of the draw, but they meet the post twice and their lack of aim was going to be expensive, because Fabril found some peace and defined the game after scoring the third goal at the middle of the half. Jorge Fernández made the run on the left wing and released a cross that Otero found inside the box to score his brace.

With the two-goal advantage, Mosquera made the changes and even switched the draw. Pancho Cotos was replaced by Ángel, who was now performing on the right wing, with Corredera in the playmaking function, Óscar on the left wing and Otero was now the centre forward.

Juan López and Bamba were the other players that entered the game taking the spots of Taboada and Corredera. Bergantiños had two more chances through a header of Canedo and a shot by Manu Nogueira that missed the target, the latest is another former player of Depor’s academy.
