There are many problems for Víctor due to the injuries. Fabricio is the only good news as he could be back in three weeks. Levante UD only have two casualties, but arrive to the meeting as the last place at the standings.

It’s an unusual week for Deportivo. The team is preparing the visit to Levante UD (Ciutat de Valencia, Saturday, 18h15 CET) and it was decided to make the trip two days before the meeting, so the last training session before the kick-off will take place in the sporting city of Vila-real on Friday. Coach Víctor Sánchez will only have two sessions at Abegondo (Tuesday and Wednesday) and one behind closed doors at the Riazor (Thursday) before releasing the roster for the game.

And there are big problems for coach Víctor Sánchez due to the new injury cases hitting the team. At least four men will miss the clash, the last name added to this list it’s an important one: Luis Alberto. The Andalusian attacker is the second most influential player in Depor’s attack after scoring twice plus providing two assists. For the last couple of weeks he has been dragging a groin problem that kept him in the bench for the last two games

Since the problem remains he asked to travel to Liverpool in order to make more tests. The club accepted and the Liverpool loanee traveled on Tuesday and will return after the international break, so he misses the game against Levante UD.

The other three confirmed casualties for the match are goalkeepers Manu and Fabricio Agosto, plus right-back Manuel Pablo. In the case of Fabricio, the doctors expect that he could be finally available for the derby against RC Celta scheduled in three weeks. On this week he already started to make some exercises with the group, among them to block the shots from his team mates during the practice.

Manu, meanwhile, should be ready after the international break. He also missed the games with Málaga CF and Atlético Madrid due to an adductor muscle problem. And those aren’t the only concerns for the coach, because a fifth man that can miss the game is centre-back Albert Lopo, He skipped Wednesday’s training due to a muscle problem (right leg) and the doctors are pessimistic about his fitness for Saturday.

Other players dragging issues are Luisinho and Fede Cartabia, in the case of the Portuguese, who remains “secretly” banned by the coach, he picked a hamstring injury on Wednesday, while the Argentine playmaker skipped the session with an adductor problem. The doctors, however, believe that Cartabia will be fine and it’s even expected that he will be a starter against Levante.

Fede Cartabia is expected to continue at the starting formation with Luis Alberto off

Jonás Gutiérrez is another player waiting for a new chance

At Levante UD, Deportivo will face a similar situation to the previous visits to Granada CF and Málaga CF:  a club in trouble that, despite the tournament is just starting, it is feeling the pressure to start adding points. The Valencians represent one of the two Primera clubs that already changed the coach. New boss Rubi brought some optimism despite the team lost in his debut visiting Valencia CF (3-0) and despite they remain as the bottom club.

For this game there are two casualties due to injury reasons. The first is right-back Iván López, who is out until December due to a shoulder fracture, while centre-back Ángel Trujillo is out due to torn retina, problem that he picked during the visit to Getafe CF (September 27). It was expected that he was going to return at the end of the month, but recently the Valencian club informed that he will be available until December.
