Easy win for Deportivo B. The rival committed two vital errors and Depor’s lads didn’t miss the chance to get three important points. Corredera and Óscar were the best players, each one scored once.

Right-back/centre-back Quique Fornos was called from Juvenil A for the game, but in the end Canadian Ben Fisk was the one performing at the right side of the defence. Marcos Legaz was finally back after surpassing his back problem, while Juan López, Manú Silva and Borja Domingo were still out injured.

Coach Manu Mosquera presented a 4-2-3-1 formation. David Gómez was the keeper, Fisk played at the right side in defense, Lucas Viña performed on the left, the centre-backs were Iago López and Róber Suárez. Edu Expósito and Santi Taboada were the centre midfielders, Juan Otero was the left winger, Álex Corredera attacked from the right, Pancho Cotos was the playmaker and Óscar García was the centre forward.

The rival was CD Choco, team that like Fabril is trying to enter the promotion zone. Coach Marcos Montes was missing Diego Silva, who had scored five goals in this season, but Hugo Sanmartin, the top-scorer at the team with seven, was a starter.

One of the calmer games for Depor’s lads on this season. Truly they didn’t do too much, especially at the beginning of the encounter, but things turned to be easier with CD Choco committing two big errors and failing to create scoring chances until the second part.

Nothing special occurred within the first 25 minutes. Both teams were unable to create scoring chances. At Fabril, Álex Corredera was the most active player in this part of the meeting, he was seizing the rival’s errors on the wings. In this sense the first opportunity in the game came after he recovered the ball at the left wing and after a poor goal kick by the visiting team, a play that ended with a shot that went over the crossbar (19’).

And suddenly Fabril were going to score twice in a matter of three minutes, and it all started with the first big error by CD Choco. The first goal came after a new poor goal kick by the visiting side, again Corredera got the ball and this time he was going to score his fourth goal on the season with a low shot.

CD Choco didn’t have time to react as only three minutes later Corredera took a lateral free-kick and his perfect cross ended with centre-back Iago López heading the ball home. It’s his third goal on the season.

Both goals were a heavy burden for CD Choco, because Fabril were closer to score the third goal with Óscar and Otero pretty active. Óscar ‘Pinchi’, together with Corredera, were the best players for the locals, the first made a couple of assists to Otero that deserved a better end, but in the first the referee whistled an offside and in the second the defence cleared the danger.

The second half started exactly like the first: with both team missing to create a scoring chance and with Corredera having the lonely opportunity in this frame of the meeting, this time a free-kick that missed the target (55’). And like it happened in the first part, the second chance was going to mean a goal for Depor B, and again after an error committed by the keeper.

Visiting goalie David Cortegoso made a poor clearance before the pressure from Otero and the ball ended in the boots of Óscar García, who didn’t hesitate to score from long range. It is his ninth goal during this season. With the 3-0 on the scoresheet, Mosquera started to make the changes, the first was the entry of Hugo Rama replacing Pancho Cotos.

Later Jorge Fernández took the place of Lucas Viña, the first chance for CD Choco in the game came until minute 66’ it was an attempt by Hugo Samartín that was blocked by David Gómez. Óscar was close to score at minute 80 with a shot that missed the target, action that was followed by the clearest chance for Choco as Hugo hit the woodwork from close range (81’).

The game ended with the good news of Marcos Legaz. The Argentine attacker has been off recently due to a back problem and returned in this game replacing Santi Taboada. He played the last ten minutes.

Fabril moved forward with a new solid game by Óscar and Corredera. Truly not the best performance on the season, but clinical enough to take advantage of the rival’s errors and claim three new points. With the result, Fabril are third now, only one point behind leaders UD Barbadás and Rápido de Bouzas CF. On next weekend Deportivo B visit SD Silva.
