Deportivo are recovering all the players that skipped the game with Levante UD a fortnight ago, but at the same time it is losing Celso Borges until 2016 and probably Juan Dominguez. RC Celta land at the Riazor without Cabral.

Deportivo got a lot of positive news ahead of the Galician derby (Riazor, Saturday, 22h05 CET), but it was all shadowed by the injury of Celso Borges. The midfielder suffered a toe fracture when he was in international action and was operated on Tuesday, so he is out for three or four months, a huge blow as the Costa Rican midfielder was a fixed starter for coach Víctor Sánchez

Meanwhile, one of his possible replacements, Juan Dominguez, didn’t end Wednesday’s session after picking an adductor muscle injury. His condition will be assessed in the coming days, but it’s probable that he won’t be available for Saturday.

But there are more positive than negative news, because the seven players that missed the past game with Levante UD are evolving and there’s the possibility that all of them could be available for Saturday. Striker Jonathan Rodríguez (illness) and winger/left-back Luisinho (hamstring) joined the group since last week, while on Tuesday Manuel Pablo (Soleus) received the medical okay to play.

Attacker Luis Alberto returned from Liverpool, he is still having issues with his groin injury, reason why he trained apart on Wednesday, but the player still has options to be available for the derby. In the cases of centre-back Alberto Lopo (Soleus) plus goalkeepers Manu and Fabricio Agosto, the three of them are in the last phase of their recovery process. The trio trained with the group on Tuesday and Wednesday and is only waiting for the green light by the doctors.

The other two international players, Haris Medunjanin and Fayçal Fajr arrived without major news and are currently available for the coach. The end of the week will be special in A Coruña; coach Víctor said in an interview that he’s facing the game in the same way than any other meeting, but it will be different as the team will have three sessions behind closed doors (Thursday, Friday and Saturday), while in the session that will be held at the Riazor the federation of Peñas will be allowed to enter the stadium in order to cheer up the team (Friday).

RC Celta arrive as the main novelty in this league tournament, Los Celestes are still battling in Champions League places despite losing two of the last three games. Coach Eduardo Berizzo has big concerns in defence after allowing five goals against Valencia CF and since Gustavo Cabral won’t be eligible, the Argentine is serving a third match of suspension.

The rest of the team is available, including the five players that were in international duties: Daniel Wass (Denmark), John Guidetti (Sweden), Jonny Castro (U21- Spain), Fabián Orellana (Chile) and Lévy Madinda (Gabon)
