25 Dec 2015
Tino Fernández explained that the club is currently negotiation a contract extension with Víctor Sánchez, also that Pletikosa is the only target for the winter window and that Saúl is the only planned exit.

On Wednesday president Tino Fernández talked to reporters as he attended to a football tournament at Ural CF. He clarified market situations at Deportivo starting with the situation with Víctor Sánchez, who ends his contract in 2017.

“There are ongoing negotiations with Víctor and the will of both parties is to reach an agreement. The rest is about to be sealed. We cannot forget that we are the second team at the bottom in terms of budget. The intention is that Víctor can develop the project in a mid-term period. We still have three years at the board of directors and the intention is that the continuity of the coach could coincide with this term.” He explained to reporters.

He confirmed once again that Pletikosa is about to join the team, while he assured that Saúl Garcia is about to go out loaned, “There are three or four teams interested in him [Saúl] and the player is about to go out loaned. The squad is pretty balanced and we aren’t planning further reinforcements.”

Then the president told to reporters that the rumours about the exit of Jonás Gutiérrez are false, “It’s totally false. I don’t know why this was said, I guess it is a subject related to the agent. I was surprised by the news, but made my work about the issue and I can tell you that there’s nothing.”

A final statement was related to the operation to increase the club’s capital, Tino said that the club is only needing €100,000 in order to reach the target of €1.5 million agreed with the Tax Agency for 2015, “It is another of our challenges and I can tell you that we are missing around one hundred thousand euros. We closed the financial exercise 2014/15 as the best in the history of the club and the sensation of strength is superior.”
