The coach and the players were saying that the draw is a positive result for Deportivo. Víctor felt sorry for the start of the game, but emphasized the reaction that allowed the equalizer.

Coach Víctor Sánchez was feeling sorry for the initial circumstances that affected his team, later he was accepting that it was an equal match, “It was an equal game, it started with adverse circumstances, the first the indisposition of Fernando Navarro that forced us to make a substitution in the warming up, later the unfortunate rebound in a corner-kick, with a player that told me was in front of the keeper blocking the view. I believe we reacted well, we had our chances. Eibar had theirs and it was an equal game.”

“The numbers in terms of shots, corner and opportunities are also equal. We never surrendered and continued insisting. I believe we received in the end the reward that we deserved. We sought for the equalizer and after we got it the game continued to be the same: equal and without chances for both sides. I also believe there was a play of an offside for Lucas leaving him alone before the keeper in which he was fine.” He added.

Finally, Víctor was saying that the point is good for Deportivo, “A point is always good in this last stretch of the season, because it approaches the goal. We are satisfied for it, but our goal for this game was to get the three points that would have mathematically secured the permanence. Now to think of the next game.”

Fede Cartabia scored the goal that meant a golden point for Deportivo, he was commenting the play, “The true is that I tried before and the ball didn’t enter; I watched that there was a slot and the ball went in.”

The Argentine playmaker also assured that Depor had its chances to win the game, “It is very difficult to come to Eibar’s field in order to win, they press a lot and well, they claimed an early lead and I believe we knew how to handle the game. We were able to tie the score and were even close to win it.”

Laure believes the draw is important for the morale of the team, “It is a very important point. It was a game that was uphill, we continued fighting and in the end got the reward that meant the equalizer. We had our options to score before, but the game was open. We are leaving content and now to wait for Getafe. We were coming from a hard defeat and in the end the point, for how the game was, is helping us to improve our self-esteem.”

Sidnei was also content with the result, “The point is important for us, in a very difficult stadium, and I believe we must continue in the same way. We should have scored more goals, but it was good. I believe the team made a good job and now we have a game at our stadium that we have to win. We created enough chances and got a point. We are leaving content as we worked hard.”

At SD Eibar, coach Jose Luis Mendilibar was explaining the difficulties faced by his team in this game, “We started very strongly but then, when we were attacking, it was hard to us to retreat. Some players ran out of gas We started well, putting balls in the penalty area, creating danger, we have scored in a corner. But we didn’t score the second. It was a good start, the first half hour. But then they have been improving, performing well in midfield, with the game that brought good results for them in the first round match, with the speed of Lucas Pérez, joined by Oriol Riera up front, and the aids of Fede Cartabia.”

“They started to play better. In the second half there was some distance between our lines, and they started to create opportunities and were able to equalize. It was hard for us, after each lost ball it was hard to retreat and reduce the spaces. We suffered a little and granted opportunities, though they slowed down after the equalizer as they understood it was a good result.” He added.
