Centre-back Pablo Insua has signed a contract extension and goes loaned to CD Leganés. The Galician player had delayed his return to the trainings as he was negotiating with the club.

On Friday, the club informed that centre-back Pablo Insua has been loaned to CD Leganés, previously the player signed a new contract lasting until 2020. He should have joined the trainings on Monday, but delayed his return as he was negotiating with the club.

Insua played loaned at CD Leganés during last season; one more time the Galician centre-back was a key piece in a Segunda campaign. No one expected to see CD Leganés earning the promotion to Primera, but the Madrilenians did it as the runners-up in the league and part of the success was a solid defence that only allowed 34 goals (2nd best mark in the league).

And Insua was a key piece in this defence. The 22-year-old player was a normal starter alongside Mantovani and was the link with midfield with his skills in the output of the ball. He played 35 games in the league season and missed the other seven games mainly after been sent off in three opportunities. Insua was even the one that scored the goal of the promotion in the 1-0 win at CD Mirandés during the last matchday.

This is the fifth departure announced by club among the players that were under contract for the new season. Juan Dominguez was loaned to RCD Mallorca, Róber was loaned to Levante UD, Miguel Cardoso rescinded his contract early on this month, while Manuel Pablo retired.
