First victory in the pre-season for Deportivo. Lucas and Riera scored hat-tricks, while Fabril’s Álvaro Naveira and Óscar left a positive impression. Rubén, Albentosa, Borja Valle, Tytoń, and Çolak made their debuts.

The first friendly game was part of the Garcia Calvo memorial trophy facing Tercera side SD Negreira. New boss Gaizka Garitano presented a 4-2-3-1 figure, with two new signings as starters: goalkeeper Rubén Martínez and attacker Borja Valle.

Rubén was the starting goalie, Laure covered the right side in defence, Saúl Fernández performed on the left, while Arribas and Sidnei were the centre-backs. Álvaro Queijeiro and Borges were the centre midfielders, Fajr was the playmaker, Valle attacked from the right wing, Óscar did it from the left and Luis Fernández was the centre forward.

The game started with a goal from the locals, Rubén Martínez punched the ball in a lateral free-kick action and the ball went into the path of Rubén Puga, who just had to push the ball in.  Óscar García was pretty active in the first minutes, he missed the target in the first attempt of the Galicians and later participated in the play of the equalizer. It was a corner-kick in which the winger ended shooting in target and, after a deflection, the ball went into the path of Celso Borges, who scored from close range.

The second goal arrived soon for Depor, Celso Borges made a solo-play inside the area and his shot was saved by local goalie Alberto Pajarillo, but the loose ball reached the path of Luis Fernández, who pushed the ball in.

Luis (17’) and Fajr (20’) could have scored the third goal, but the attempt from the striker was blocked by Pajarillo, while the shoot of the Moroccan after a bad pass in the local defender went over the crossbar.

Óscar reappeared at minute 24 combining with Fajr, but his shot was saved by Pajarillo. Then Luis scored again before the end of the first part, it was a low cross of Laure that the striker met at the box to score from close range.
Apart from Óscar and Luis, new signing Borja Valle left a positive impression as he was involved in several offensive plays. For the second part the lineup was completely changed, it was a 4-4-2 figure with Tytoń, Albentosa and Çolak making their debuts. Fabril’s left-back Álvaro Naveira was also in.

The changes didn’t reduce the pace and neither the rain of goals. The final part started with goals from Lucas Pérez and Oriol Riera, the first was a counterattack that ended with the Galician attacker beating Pajarillo with a low attempt, while the second was a cross by Bruno Gama that Riera connected at the near post.

A sixth goal arrived soon, again it was a counterattack with Lucas Pérez crossed Pajarillo from inside the area. Despite the big score Deportivo continued pressing and having more chances to score, like the shot of Naveira that missed the target after a new cross by Bruno Gama. Still, the seventh and eighth goal arrived through Riera, the first with a strong shot from the edge of the area and the second after collecting a cross from Naveira in a good play by Lucas.

Naveira was the youngest player on the field for Depor and left a positive impression with his crosses, he was replaced by Bicho for the final seven minutes. Bruno Gama scored the ninth in a solo-play in which he eluded three rivals and later assisted Lucas for the final goal.
