Deportivo announced the signing of striker Florin Andone. For now, the terms of the operation haven’t been revealed, only that the Romanian will undergo the medicals on Tuesday.

Hours after announcing the deal for Carles Gil, Deportivo released the press article announcing the arrival of 23-year-old striker Florin Andone. For now the Galician club is only reporting that he will undergo the medicals on Tuesday, nothing was said about the terms of the transfer and the years in the contract of the striker.

Meanwhile, Córdoba CF announced the operation as a final transfer, but didn’t report the amount of the operation. According to several sources the amount of the transfer is between €3.5 and €4 million and includes a percentage of a future sell. It was also reported that the player is going to sign a five-year contract.  If the report is true then this will be the most expensive signing at Depor since the €7 million paid for Andrés Guardado ahead of the season 2007/08.

Andone is Rumanian, but has spent the half of his life in Spain. He arrived to the country at the age of 12 and played as an amateur for Vinaròs CF and Castellón CF in Valencia. He then joined Villarreal B and, after a stage at Atlético Baleares, he ended at Córdoba B after scoring 12 goals in 34 Segunda B matches.

At the Andalusian club the striker had a very positive debut as a professional, though both the B team and the first team suffered the relegation during the season 2014/15. With the B squad he scored 2 goals in 8 Segunda B matches.

His official debut with the first team was during a 1-1 draw against Granada CF playing for Copa Del Rey (December 17, 2014). He was going to play 21 more games with the senior team, 20 of them at Primera División and scored five goals, including one at the Riazor against Deportivo (April 8).

Despite the relegation the Rumanian stayed at the club and exploded at Segunda División during last season netting 21 goals in 36 Segunda appearances.  Andone was picked by Romania’s coach Anghel Iordănescu for the UEFA Euro 2016 qualification and for the final tournament, though in the later he only made two appearances as a substitute.

Andone is the eleventh signing of Deportivo ahead of the season 2016/17. Previously the Galician club completed the signings of goalkeepers Przemysław Tytoń and Rubén Martínez, right-back Juanfran Moreno, centre-back Raúl Albentosa, wingers Bruno Gama and Emre Çolak, centre midfielders Fayçal Fajr and Guilherme, playmaker Carles Gil, plus attacker Borja Valle.
