27 Jul 2016
Florin Andone signed a five-year contract with Deportivo after completing the medicals. The transfer is around the €4 million and the striker says that he doesn’t feel the pressure.

On Tuesday, Deportivo officially confirmed the signing of Florin Andone after the striker completed the medicals. He signed a five-year contract, but the club didn’t inform about the economic terms of the operation, though several sources are calculating the transfer between the €3.5 and the €4 million, operation that includes a percentage of a future sell.

It means this is the most expensive signing at Deportivo since the €7 million paid for Andrés Guardado ahead of the season 2007/08. The Romanian talked to the media before completing the medicals and said that he isn’t worried for the pressure, “I have the same responsibility if they pay a dime or if they pay what they have paid. I arrive willing to add things, to improve day by day, to reach the top and gain a place at Primera División. It’s my ambition. I thank Deportivo for the economic effort, but it’s also personal ambition. I am not pressed for what they have paid.”

He neither feels pressured to score tones of goals, “I don’t care about the pressure, I am ready to work hard. The goals come and go. Maybe you spend four or five games without scoring, but later the goals arrive in streaks. If I don’t lose the hunger that I have and continue working, then everything else will come.”

The striker was expressing his happiness for arriving to Depor, “I am very happy. For me it was vital to play at Primera División. I am willing to start training and meet the partners, the coaches and help the team. I want to thank the president of Córdoba for giving me the chance to come here, he understood my position. He understood that the best for me was to grow up as a player. I am content with both clubs for this opportunity.”

Finally, Andone commented on the fact of signing a five-year contract, “The life in football is complicated, each year, or even each six months, you are going from here to another place. I would love to spend a lot of years in one single place. Deportivo bet on me and offered me the chance to arrive for five seasons. Hopefully I could spend the five year on here, it will a signal that the club relies on me and that everything is fine.”
