DEPORTIVO IN OCTOBER

29 Sep 2016
Tough calendar for Deportivo in October, four matches that include the derby and the visit to the Camp Nou. The Galicians try to avoid the low part of the standings facing some of the top teams in the league.

After only adding five points in six matchdays, Deportivo search for the needed points in October facing difficult challenges. Four games that include another difficult visit plus the Galician derby to be played at Balaídos.

This SaturdaySporting Gijón visit the Riazor. The Asturians had a good start in the season winning two of the first three games, but later chained three straight defeats. This is one of the games that Depor must win in order to fulfil the goal of avoiding troubles, though the Galicians have been unable to defeat Sporting since 1998 in all competitions.

The last five games of Sporting:

Matchday 03 SPORTING 2 LEGANES 1

Then there’s a break in la liga due to the national teams and the competition returns with another tough visit for Depor: FC Barcelona. It seems like an impossible match, but the Catalans already lost at home before Alavés and Depor picked two draws in their last two visits to the Camp Nou. Lionel Messi is currently out and it isn’t sure if he will be available for this game.

The last five games of Barcelona:

And the Galician derby arrives in the second part of the month; Los Celestes had a poor start losing three games in a row, but they have won the last two and had a good start in the Europa League adding a point on the road.

October ends for Deportivo with the visit of Valencia CF to the Riazor. Los Ches lost the first four games, something that cost the job to Paco Ayestarán. Later the team chained two wins with Voro on board and the team left the relegation zone.
