114th league edition of the Galician derby; Andone passed the late test and is available for a Deportivo that have spent four straight away matches without scoring a goal.

Referee: Alfonso Javier Álvarez Izquierdo
Kick-off: 12h00 CET (Balaídos)

Deportivo have spent four straight away matches without scoring a goal; actually, Los Blanquiazules are one of the two clubs among the top-five leagues that haven’t scored yet playing in this condition (the other club is Serie A Empoli FC). The last time Depor spent so many time without scoring goals as a visitant was for the campaign 2014/15 (5 games).

The good thing is that the team only conceded five goals so far playing away from the Riazor, and with four goals allowed in the visit to FC Barcelona at the Camp Nou, the solid job in defence made by the team was worth two draws.

Depor’s main problem continues to be the lack of aim. Garitano’s man have only completed 23 shots on target in la liga, this is the 13th worst mark among the top-leagues in Europe. (the worst mark is for Bundesliga Hamburger SV with 9)

This is the 114th edition of the Galician derby playing for a league competition; the series is very equal with Depor having 42 victories, while Celta have 44. Deportivo have won 4 of the last 8 derbies. Los Blanquiazules have only won 8 times after 55 visits to Balaídos, but they won 4 of the last 9 games played there.

Depor will try to break it’s negative scoring record on the road visiting the third team that allows more goals at home in liga. A positive result will also bring some fresh air to a team that has stayed too close to relegation after the defeat at home with CD Leganés. Coach Gaizka Garitano didn’t give any hint of the possible lineup for the game, but it’s expected that he will return to the 4-2-3-1 system after the failed attempt of the trivote at the Camp Nou.

Team news:  On Saturday striker Florin Andone passed a late test and was included in the roster for the game after missing the previous two trainings due to a muscle problem, so Joselu is the only player that remains at the injury room. Garitano decided to travel to Vigo with twenty players and only left goalkeeper Rubén Martínez out of the roster.

Man to watch: Playmaker Emre Çolak, the Turkish was named by the club as the best player in September and will try to guide the team with is passes. He has completed 17 key passes so far, which is the fourth highest mark in la liga, only behind Kroos (24), Koke (22) and Iago Aspas (18).

Picked players: (20) Lux, Tytoń (goalkeepers); Juanfran, Arribas, Sidnei, Albentosa, Navarro, Luisinho (defenders); Borges, Pedro Mosquera, Çolak, Guilherme, Álex Bergantiños, Fajr, Carles Gil, Bruno Gama (midfielders); Borja Valle, Ryan Babel, Marlos Moreno & Florin Andone (attackers).

Predicted lineup: (4-2-3-1) Lux – Juanfran, Albentosa, Sidnei, Navarro – Borges, Mosquera – Bruno Gama, Fajr, Çolak – Andone.

RC Celta returned to the elite in 2012 after a turbulent period at Segunda División, just four years later they are already an established team in la liga and are back into European competitions for the first time in a decade, and big part of this has to do with the job of president Carlos Mouriño, but everything is about to change as he is now wanting to leave the club.

Mouriño, who is also the main shareholder of the club, has been negotiating with a Chinese investment group a deal that could reach the €150 million. In a recent press conference he admitted the negotiations and also explained to reporters that he is leaving as he has lost the “hope”. He also said that the only way to stay is to see the city council in Vigo selling to them the Balaídos stadium, something that will hardly occur. So instead of enjoying the season the fans are more worried of the coming future.

Team news: Midfielders Marcelo Díaz and Fabián Orellana are recovered from their injuries and are going directly into the starting eleven. Striker Claudio Beauvue (Achilles) is the only player out for injury reasons. Ex-Depor man Álvaro Lemos wasn’t included in the roster for the match, neither striker John Guidetti.

Man to watch: Striker Iago Aspas. With Nolito gone, the offensive responsibility is in the shoulders of the Moaña-born attacker. And he has partially responded with two goals and one assist, not great numbers, but he is the leader of a team that wants to repeat the numbers of last season. Aspas is also targeting to have an impact in a derby after failing in his first six league presentations against Deportivo.

Picked players: (18) Sergio Álvarez, Rubén Blanco (goalkeepers); Hugo Mallo, Fontàs, Jonny, Planas, Cabral, Roncaglia (defenders); Marcelo Díaz, Radoja, Tucu Hernández, Wass, Orellana, Pape Cheikh (midfielders); Iago Aspas, Bongonda, Sisto & Giuseppe Rossi (attackers).

Predicted lineup: (4-2-3-1) Sergio Álvarez – Hugo Mallo, Roncaglia, Cabral, Jonny – Marcelo Díaz, Radoja – Orellana, Pablo Hernández, Bongonda – Iago Aspas.
