Joselu suffered a relapse from his knee injury, while Borja Valle will be out for one month. Andone and Ryan Babel are the only strikers available at the team.

The strikers at Deportivo are under fire due to their poor numbers (only two goals in a team that has only scored eight times in eleven matchdays), now this line has suffered a double blow that will complicate the lineups for the next month.

Joselu Mato joined the trainings before the game with Granada CF and it was commented that he could have minutes in the next game against Sevilla CF, but the loanee from Stoke City suffered a relapse during the week of the international break.

The scans confirmed that he suffered a disruption of the scar tissue on the damaged knee (right leg). Itís uncertain when he could return, but itís highly probable that the Pontevedra-born attacker will miss one more month as he has to start from zero again. He already spent two months out after suffering the first injury in his debut against Athletic Club.

Meanwhile, one day later after Joselu suffered the relapse, Borja Valle didnít end the training session due to a muscle problem. It didnít seem as a serious case, but the scans confirmed that he suffered a tear in the quadriceps muscle of his right leg (grade II). He will be out between three and four weeks. He has only played 188 minutes distributed in five games during this season.

This means that coach Gaizka Garitano will only have two options for the centre of the attack for the next games: Florin Andone and Ryan Babel. Both players have scored a goal and will be the options up front before Sevilla CF, MŠlaga CF and Real Sociedad plus the first-leg in Copa Del Rey against Real Betis.
