29 Nov 2016
Garitano only has 18 players available and decided to not pick anyone from Depor B. Joselu is back and will have minutes in the second half. Víctor Sánchez faces his former club trying to change the indifference of the fans.

Referee: Ricardo De Burgos Bengoetxea
Kick-off: 22h00 CET (Benito Villamarín)

STATISTICS: NO LUCK WITH BETIS IN COPA
This is the fourth Copa series against Real Betis in Copa Del Rey and in the previous three series the Galicians were unable to pass the round. The first meeting in this competition took place during the first round of campaign 1946/47 and Los Verdiblancos won the tie with a 3-1 aggregate score.

The second meeting took place during the season 1969/70 (sixth round), both legs ended in a 1-1 draw and it was necessary a tie-breaker, which was played in Bilbao and was won by the Andalusians (1-0). The third meeting was played during the third round of the season 1976/77. Betis won the tie with 6-1 aggregate score and later won the title.

Both sides aren’t living a good moment in liga, this since both outfits have lost four of their last six matches in the tournament, with the difference that Betis won the other two matches, while Depor only picked two draws. For this reason the Galicians are only one point above the pit, while the Andalusians have a mattress of five points.

DEPORTIVO: NEW PROBLEMS
If the current situation in liga isn’t enough, the club now sees how the academy in on the spotlight after Óscar García was punished for a behaviour that hasn’t been explained. The winger from Depor V offered an interview on last week with some polemic declarations, but according to journalists the officials are upset for his behaviour towards his coach and partners, plus the fact that he hasn’t renewed his contract ending in June.

Coach Garitano said on last week that he was going to be part of the roster for this game, but this unexpected exit left the debut in Copa without any Fabril’s player. In the end the coach is making changes, but limited to the eighteen players that are available for the meeting.

Team news: Garitano only had eighteen players available at the first squad and he decided to not pick anyone from Fabril. The novelties are the return of Joselu after been out for three months, and also goalkeeper Rubén Martínez, who was picked for the first time on the season. Przemysław Tytoń is rested, while Bruno Gama joins Borja Valle, Laure and Babel at the injury room.

Man to watch: Striker Joselu. The coach confirmed that he will have minutes in this game, though probably coming out from the bench. He debuted back in September against Athletic Club and left positive feelings in the few minutes he spent on the pitch, but a knee injury left him out for three months.

Picked players: (18) Lux, Rubén Martínez (goalkeepers); Juanfran, Arribas, Albentosa, Sidnei, Navarro, Luisinho (defenders); Álex Bergantiños, Borges, Pedro Mosquera, Çolak, Guilherme, Fajr, Carles Gil, (midfielders); Joselu, Marlos Moreno & Florin Andone (attackers).

Predicted lineup: (4-2-3-1) Rubén Martínez – Juanfran, Albentosa, Arribas, Navarro – Álex Bergantiños, Guilherme– Gil, Çolak, Fajr - Marlos Moreno.

REAL BETIS: INDIFFERENCE
The media in Seville emphasizes the indifference of the fans towards their team during this season, there’s a sense of disappointment with the decisions of the club’s authorities and the performance of the squad. There’s tension and criticism as the team has been unable to win two straight games and it explains why Gustavo Poyet was fired so early ad with the team living outside of relegation.

The arrival of ex-Depor Victor Sánchez hasn’t changed the picture yet. He debuted with a 2-0 win over UD Las Palmas, but one week later lost at SD Eibar (3-1) and was criticized for making a defensive change after Cristiano Piccini was sent off early in the meeting. So, the fans are waiting to see a more regular team and aren’t yet convinced that Víctor is the right man for the job.

Team news: There are no injury concerns in the team, but a lot of changes are expected. Goalkeeper Dani Giménez is expected to start, while players without too many minutes like defender Rafa Navarro and midfielder Ryan Donk are expected to be starters.

Man to watch: Striker Toni Sanabria. The Paraguayan was transferred during the summer with Real Betis paying €7.5 million for him, but he remains scoreless after seven presentations with the team. Now Sanabria searches for his first goal against Depor, team against whom he scored a brace in only seven minutes during last season (Riazor, September 20, 2015)

Picked players: The roster will be released until Tuesday

Predicted lineup: (4-4-2) Dani Giménez - Rafa Navarro, Bruno, Pezzella, Durmisi - Musonda, Donk, Brasanac, Felipe Gutiérrez – Sanabria, Álex Alegría.
