Statistically, it was the worst year for Deportivo since 1944 as the Galicians only won seven official games. Depor were also the team that conceded more goals at Primera during the year.

After a promising start during the campaign 2015/16, Deportivo fell down in the second part of the season, and during the present liga tournament the team has had a poor start. These factors combined are the explanation why Deportivo is the worst team at Primera during the year 2016.

The Galicians only won seven official games in the period (six in liga and one in Copa Del Rey), which is the worst mark in the club since 1944 (7). A big part of this has to do with the fact that Depor allowed 72 goals in the 37 league games disputed in 2016

Deportivo were only able to clinch four clean sheets in the 41 official games disputed in 2016 (39 in liga and 2 in Copa): 2-0 Vs. Villarreal (matchday 37, 2015/16), 0-0 at Real Betis (matchday 02, 2016/17), 0-0 at Deportivo Alavés (matchday 04, 2016/17) and 2-0 Vs. CA Osasuna (matchday 16, 2016/17).

About the players, Borges was the man with more appearances, the midfielder played in 39 of the 41 official games on the year, he only skipped the game in Copa against CD Mirandés disputed at the Riazor (0-3 loss) and the penultimate game in the league tournament of the past season (2-0 win over Villarreal CF), the latter for been suspended. Meanwhile Lucas Pérez was the top scorer with seven goals in favour.
