Finally some rest for the players after the busy schedule of the past weeks, three men missed three or more sessions due to injuries, but the coaching staff is expecting to have the full squad available for April.

The arrival of coach Pele Mel coincided with a period in which Deportivo had to face four games in a matter of ten days, now the players face a break in the league competition due to the national teams, it’s a good opportunity to recharge the batteries as, in the first week of April, Depor will have to pay three games in a matter of eight days.

That’s why the coaching staff planned a week with only four training sessions, the team had a recovery session on Monday, then rested on Tuesday and then only completed two sessions with a high pace, because Friday’s session was more relaxed, with the players completing some exercises plus a training match with teams composed by six men. And the players will rest again on Saturday and Sunday.

In Wednesday’s and Thursday’s sessions the coach worked the ball possession and also how to break the pressure from the rival passing the ball with only one touch; he also tried to improve the offensive efficiency of the team as the players trained the shots on target.

Four men missed the trainings as they are in in international action: Fayçal Fajr (Morocco), Celso Borges (Costa Rica), Gaël Kakuta (Kongo) and Emre Çolak (Turkey). Kakuta should be the first one that joins the team on next week as he only plays once (Sunday), while Borges should arrive until Thursday as he plays on Tuesday in Honduras.

The busy calendar had an impact at the team, the men with more minutes in recent games (Lux, Mosquera and Juanfran) were rested on Monday and only completed the last three sessions with the group, on Friday it was Bruno Gama who was rested, while three men were dragging injuries.

Centre-back Sidnei Rechel is dragging an I-grade muscle injury on his left thigh since the game with Real Betis. then centre-back Alejandro Arribas (ankle knock) and winger Carles Gil (hamstring) ended the game against RC Celta with issues. The doctors expect that the trio should be fine for next week; actually Gil already completed the full session with the team during Friday’s training. So, Depor should start April without injury concerns.
