Pepe Mel is ready to return into the 4-4-2 draw as Joselu returns. Sevilla CF arrive to the meeting in a difficult moment and with several casualties due to injury reasons.

Referee: Santiago Jaime Latre
Kick-off: 20h30 CET (Sánchez Pizjuán)

Sevilla CF represent the fifth best home team in la liga after adding 33 points in the 14 matches disputed at the Sánchez Pizjúan during this season, they won 10 of those 14 meetings and only lost once: 1-2 Vs. FC Barcelona (November 06).

However, the Andalusians are in a bad moment as they have only picked six points in their last six liga games, even Deportivo have added more points in the same period (8). They have only scored four goals in the last six liga meetings, mark only above Málaga CF (3).

In the past, Depor were used to get good results at the Sánchez Pizjúan, but despite the last win there took place during the campaign 2007/08 (0-1), the recent results aren’t bad at all as Los Blanquiazules picked three draws in the last six games played there, including the 1-1 on last season.

Things have radically changed for coach Pepe Mel, after the victory over FC Barcelona he found out a team that’s about to break the scoreless worst mark on this season and also a team that’s arriving too late to the games, and it’s that in the meetings with Valencia CF and Granada CF the team left a negative impression within the first 30 minutes, something that’s bugging the coach. He already made changes and will continue so as the solution isn’t arriving.

Now the coach is switching back into the 4-4-2, which means to witness the return of Joselu, while Emre Çolak will be benched.  Mel hinted more changes, but didn’t give clues, a forced change is the exit of Carles Gil, who is injured.

Team news: Mixed news for coach Pepe Mel, midfielder Guilherme wasn’t expected to be available due to an ankle sprain, but winger Carles Gil is missing the game due to a groin problem, neither centre midfielder Pedro Mosquera is available as he isn’t recovered from a thigh problem. The third man at the injury room is left-back Fernando Navarro. The 20 players available for the game were picked for the trip to Andalusia.

Man to watch: Striker Joselu. The Galician returns from suspension and his inclusion at the starting eleven means to switch the draw. He has only scored in big games (Real Madrid and FC Barcelona), and this is a big game despite Sevilla are not living a good moment.

Picked players: (20) Tytoń, Lux, Roef (goalkeepers); Laure, Juanfran, Arribas, Sidnei, Albentosa, Luisinho (defenders); Álex Bergantiños, Borges, Fajr, Çolak, Guilherme, Kakuta, Ola John, Bruno Gama (midfielders); Joselu, Andone & Marlos Moreno (attackers).

Predicted lineup: (4-4-2) Lux – Juanfran, Arribas, Sidnei, Luisinho – Bruno Gama, Álex Bergantiños, Borges, Marlos Moreno – Andone, Joselu.

At the beginning of the year Sevilla CF was seen as a candidate to la liga title as they were keeping the pace of Real Madrid and FC Barcelona, but their latest results are so poor that now Los Rojiblancos are losing the train of the Champions League, the Andalusians are now fourth at the standings and are not only looking at third place Atlético Madrid (3 points away), but also at fifth place Villarreal CF, side that’s now only six points under.

The latest results have been so bad that the media is already forgetting the first part of the season and are describing the level of the team as “mediocre”, this despite their most recent rivals were big teams like Atlético Madrid and FC Barcelona, but the point is that their performance is leaving a feeling that they are already tired and that might lose the last train to return into the Champions League.

Team news: Large list of casualties hitting the squad of Jorge Sampaoli.  Playmaker Stevan Jovetić (Soleus) is recovered before the expectations from a Soleus problem and will be a starter, but other five men are out of the meeting. Playmaker Vitolo was sent off against FC Barcelona and is suspended, while the other for players are injured: centre-back Adil Rami (muscle), left-back Benoît Trémoulinas, winger Krohn-Dehli (both knee ligaments) plus striker Carlos Fernández (knee concussion)

Man to watch: Playmaker Pablo Sarabia, used in at least five positions on this season –including right-back and striker- this 24-year-old product of Real Madrid is having a positive season after scoring six goals plus providing six assists in liga. He is expected to perform on the left wing and will be a big challenge for Juanfran.

Picked players: (18) Sergio Rico, David Soria (goalkeepers); Kranevitter, Lenglet, Montoya, Mercado, Escudero, Ganso, Pareja (defenders); Iborra, N’Zonzi, Mariano, Jovetić, Sarabia, Franco Vázquez (midfielders); Luciano Vietto, Ben Yedder & Correa (attackers)

Predicted lineup: (3-4-3) Sergio Rico – Pareja, Mercado, Lenglet – Mariano, N’Zonzi, Kranevitter, Escudero – Sarabia, Jovetić, Yedder.
