REVIEW: FABRIL 4 – CASTRO 1 (TERCERA)

02 May 2017
New victory for a Deportivo B that caresses the title in the group. The team came from behind in the score and netted four goals despite the big problems to create scoring opportunities.

BEFORE THE GAME
Coach Cristobal Parralo was recovering centre midfielder Edu Expósito, but now it was Nacho Monsalve the one picked by the first team. The centre-back missed the game and therefore Arnau Campeny. was once again a starter.  Carlos López and Álvaro Naveira were the players that were out injured.

The draw was a 4-2-3-1, Álex Cobo was the starting goalie, Blas Alonso performed at the right side of the defence, Lucas Viña did it at the left, the centre-backs were Quique Fornos and Arnau Campeny. Álvaro Queijeiro and Edu Expósito were the centre midfielders, Álex Corredera attacked from the right wing, Óscar García did it from the left, Manu Molina was the playmaker and Borja Galán was the centre forward.

The rival was CD Castro, team fighting to survive in the league. Coach Carlos Díaz “Charly” was presenting an offensive team with Iván González, Adrián Iglesias and Omar Rodríguez as the trident upfront, combined they have scored twenty goals in the tournament.

THE MATCH
Misleading score, because Fabril suffered a lot before a rival that gave a lot of problems. Depor’s lads came from behind and only secured the result within the last fifteen minutes.  The team ended with ten men after Álvaro Queijeiro left the pitch injured (shoulder).

The first chance in the game came at minute 4, in a lateral free-kick Queijeiro found the ball when he was alone inside the area, but he sent the ball out. Six minutes later Blas Alonso was missing the target from outside the area.

Fabril were dominating the actions, but then they were surprised by a doubtful penalty committed over Adrián Iglesias that allowed Xaime González to claim the advantage firing from the spot. The goal affected Depor B and CD Castro were close to net the second as Iván González missed the target in a bad clearance by Alex Cobo during a corner-kick (25’).

The locals claimed the control of the actions after this play, but at the same time Depor’s lads were unable to create a scoring chance despite playing in the rival’s side of the field the major part of the time. And when things seemed complicated, Fabril found two goals in a matter of three minutes.

Firstly, Lucas Viña released a low cross from the right and Edu Expósito found the ball inside the are to net the equalizer with a crossed shot past visiting goalie Manu Cedrón. Only three minutes later Corredera scored in a direct free-kick attempt, Manu Cedrón should have blocked the shot as the ball went into his near post.

So, Fabril found the advantage in a matter of 180 seconds after suffering the whole first part, Depor’s lads started the final half motivated and Borja Galán could have scored the third goal with a shot that passed close to the far post (47’).

But then things were settled again, Fabril had big problems to create scoring opportunities and the fans started to lose the patience with the referee for some polemic decisions. He showed ten yellows, the major part of them for arguing, including one to Borja Domingo when the striker was warming up.

It seemed that Fabril were going to end the meeting suffering, but then Óscar García showed up to score the third goal, his 21st on the season. Edu Expósito assisted the winger with a volley from the left side of the box that was later translated into a strong shot from far post.

As the victory seemed secured, Jardel was the first substitution in the game as he replaced Borja Galán, and the Portuguese scored the fourth goal after collecting a rebound. Lucas Viña shot from the left side of the area, Manu Cedrón made the deflection and the Portuguese just pushed the ball in firing from the box. The victory was a fact and Parralo made the last two changes with Carreón and Borja Domingo replacing Corredera and Óscar.

The game ended with bad news for Fabril, because Queijeiro suffered a shoulder injury and left the pitch without been replaced as the three changes were already made. Later the club confirmed that it was a dislocation and the midfielder will probably miss the last two games in the regular season.

AFTER THE GAME
Fabril didn’t play well, but it came from behind and achieved three new points. Now it only needs one more point to secure the first place. On next Sunday the lads visit CD As Pontes, team that’s already relegated (O Poboado, 18h00 CET).
