Depor search for the mathematical salvation with a squad full of casualties, Fabril’s Nacho Monsalve is set to debut. The rival arrives thinking of next season after missing the train to Europe.

Referee: Antonio Miguel Mateu Lahoz
Kick-off: 18h30 CET (Riazor)

RCD Espanyol are ending the season without major problems to achieve the permanence, this despite a discrete performance at home, so the highlight has been its performance on the road. The Catalans have added 21 points after 17 visits, which is the 8th best mark in la liga.

Meanwhile, Deportivo are still looking for points in order to clinch the salvation. The Galicians have only added 23 of the 51 points disputed at the Riazor so far (45% of the total). This is the fifth worst record in la liga, only above CD Leganés (17), Granada CF (16), Sporting Gijón (15) & CA Osasuna (10).

The good stat for Depor is that it won in eleven of the last fifteen liga visits of RCD Espanyol to A Coruña; actually the Catalans have ended scoreless in seven of its last eight visits to the Riazor. The last time they scored there was for a 2-3 win for the campaign 2009/10 (September 19, 2009).

Coach Pepe Mel continues without repeating a lineup since his arrival. This is the twelfth match with the Madrilenian on board and once again there are novelties at the starting eleven, this time it’s more related to the casualties.

Luisinho picked an injury in the last session and, despite been included on the roster, he will probably miss the game. It changes the plans of the coach, because with Albentosa suspended and Sidnei injured the original plan was to play with Fernando Navarro as a centre-back, but now he will return to the left side as the Portuguese won’t be available.

For this reason, Ignacio Monsalve from Depor B will have the chance to debut at Primera División. The 23-year-old defender has made 30 appearances with Fabril on the Tercera season and t’s the second B team member that debuts on the season after Óscar García.

There are other novelties at the lineup, like the presence of Ola John on the left wing, the Dutchman hasn’t played as a starter since his arrival in the winter window. During the week the coach tested a lineup with Emre Çolak performing on the right wing and Celso Borges acting as the playmaker.

Team news: Three players remain at the injury room: centre-back Sidnei Rechel, centre midfielder Pedro Mosquera and striker Joselu. Centre-back Raúl Albentosa is also missing the game after picking a fifth yellow card on the season in the past game against CA Osasuna.

Luisinho picked a knee injury on Saturday, it seems to be a sprain and the Portuguese was included on the list, but since he will probably miss the game the coach decided to include Fabril’s Edu Expósito and Nacho Monsalve. Winger Gaël Kakuta is out of the game as Mel no longer trusts him.

Man to watch: Winger Ola John. The Dutchman is finally having an opportunity as a starter. So far he has only entered for the final minutes in eight liga games and left some positive feelings. The game in which he played the most was in the visit to Sevilla CF (34 minutes, April 23).

Picked players: (20) Lux, Tytoń, Davy Roef (goalkeepers); Laure, Juanfran, Arribas, Monsalve, Navarro, Luisinho (defenders); Álex Bergantiños, Borges, Guilherme, Edu Expósito, Çolak, Fajr, Bruno Gama, Carles Gil, Ola John (midfielders); Marlos Moreno & Andone (attackers).

Predicted lineup: (4-2-3-1) Lux – Juanfran, Arribas, Monsalve, Navarro – Guilherme, Álex Bergantiños – Çolak, Borges, Ola John – Andone.

The Catalans are one of the few teams at Primera División that are already thinking of next season, they didn’t have problems to clinch the permanence and their last defeats cost the dream of playing in Europe. So, right now the attention is focused in the composition of the squad for next season.

Coach Quique Sánchez Flores will continue, while the club is about to secure the arrival of Bosnian fullback Mihailo Ristić. The renewal of goalkeeper Diego López has been focusing the attention during this week

Team news: Left-back Rubén Duarte was recovered in time from an ankle sprain and was included on the roster, but right-back Javi López (muscle tear), centre-back Óscar Duarte (knee) and left-back Aarón Martín (suspension) are missing the game. Marc Roca and Marc Navarro were picked from the B squad in order to cover the casualties in defence.

Man to watch: Winger Pablo Piatti. Gerard Moreno is the top-scorer at the team (12), but Piatti has been on the spotlight too. The Argentine ha scored ten goals and provided nine assists. He is only one assist away of having double digits in the main two offensive departments, at this point in la liga only Barcelona’s Luis Suárez has achieved the double mark (26 goals and 12 assists).

Picked players: (18) Diego López, Roberto Jiménez (goalkeepers); Rubén Duarte, Víctor Álvarez, Diego Reyes, Marc Roca, Marc Navarro (defenders); Víctor Sánchez, Jurado, David López, Hernán Pérez, Javi Fuego, Piatti, Pape Diop (midfielders); Léo Baptistão, Gerard Moreno, Caicedo & Álvaro Vázquez (attackers).

Predicted lineup: (4-4-2) Diego López – Marc Navarro, Reyes, David López, Víctor Álvarez – Jurado, Javi Fuego, Víctor Sánchez, Piatti – Gerard Moreno, Caicedo.
