Cartabia always knew that what he wanted was to return to Deportivo. His family was the main reason why he decided to return and now hopes to have a solid season at Primera División.

Fede Cartabia talked to reporters and admitted his happiness for returning to Deportivo, “"I'm very happy to be at Deportivo. It was what I wanted from the day I left. I already know what this is and I’m delighted to be here. I had several offers to go elsewhere, but I have prioritized to come to Deportivo because I was happy here and my family too.”

He admitted offers from other clubs, but always wanted to return to A Coruña, “Yes, but you always point to happiness. My family was happy on here and German [Lux] also supported me to come here and I, as I said before, was happy on here.”

About the countless problems to leave Valencia CF on last season, he commented that, "It’s difficult to explain. There were situations where I was in the middle and that's why I didn’t come before. I did my best to come, I spoke with the president and I received the refusal of Suso [Garcia Pitarch].”

Then the playmaker talked of his expectations for the new season, “Truly, in my first year here I started with many injuries, mainly groin problems, and started to enter little by little, but in the end I found the pace and now I hope to make the jump at Primera División.”
