Only five trainings during the third week on the pre-season, while the team played three new friendly games. Pepe Mel still has a large squad during the sessions.

Deportivo’s first team reduced the numbers of training, from eight in the past week it passed to five, the reason was that the team had to face three friendly meetings, so there were no trainings in the afternoon during this week.

Four of the five training sessions were tactical, with the players training different aspects of the game, from the ball possession to defensive moves with the team under pressure. Coach Pepe Mel also trained set-pieces, offensive moves and the high pressure on the pitch.

About the three friendly games on the week, Deportivo faced two Segunda B outfits and one Tercera side. CCD Cerceda was the one that put more resistance (0-1), while the other two were big wins for Los Blanquiazules: 1-6 at UD Somozas and 1-6 at Bergantiños CF.

Mel continued to have a full room during the training sessions, of the 32 men that were there for the beginning of the week, only one left: Fayçal Fajr, who resigned in order to sign for Getafe CF. The number of players will return to 32 during the week as Fabian Schär will join the trainings on Monday.

Francis, Queijeiro, Óscar García and Edu Expósito are the only B players that remain training with the first team, though Queijeiro (hamstring) and Óscar (muscle) ended the week sidelined.

Fede Cartabia is still having issues with an Achilles injury, but was able to debut in the pre-season during the friendly against UD Somozas. Left-back Gerard Valentín ended the week at the injury room due to a tendinitis
