Adrián completed the medicals on Friday, before he talked to reporters and explained the difficulties to leave FC Porto.

The latest addition to the first team, Adrián López, completed the medicals on Friday. The club announced that he is arriving loaned from FC Porto with the Galicians paying part of the wages plus having a buyout option (the amount wasn’t revealed). The operation was closed the day of the Teresa Herrera, and the delay in the announcement was related to the fact that Porto wanted to see Adrián reducing his wages, something that he accepted in order to come to Deportivo.

Before completing the medicals, the striker talked to reporters, he talked of the delay of his arrival after the problems had with FC Porto, “I am very happy to see that things were sorted out. I am hopeful and willing to do the right things. It lasted (he smiles] as we had to fight with Porto in order to fix things, but well, the important thing is that I am here and willing to start.”

Adrián was training with the reserves of Porto, reason why he didn’t complete the ideal pre-season, “The situation isn’t pleasant. Some players have been training apart, it isn’t the best way to make the pre-season, but I am already here. I will try to be at the top as soon as possible. I will train today and, if it was it for me, I am ready.”

He confessed that Depor was his priority, “The true is that, at the moment I learned there was a strong interest, for me it was very important and this is a place from where I have good memories. I know I will have a quick adaptation. I did everything possible to be here.  It was a little hard, but it’s done.”

Then the Asturian explained his conversation with Pepe Mel before deciding to come to Deportivo, “I talked to him and he transmitted the interest of the club, he wanted me to be here and it’s always important to hear the coach transmitting that idea. I am very content.”

About his expectations for the season, the attacker said that, “I am hoping to score goals and bring assists. The strikers have that responsibility and the work is the most important thing. All the players must have the responsibility to extract the best performance from the team.

Finally, Adrián didn’t want to talk of the buyout option on his contract, “I believe the most important thing is to do the right things on this year. We hope it can be an important year and later we will see what happens.”
