Short time for the recovery, but it has been a sweet week after the victory in the Canary Islands. Parralo has been tested the same lineup, while the rival arrives with doubts after the results in Champions League.

Short week for Deportivo, the Galicians were the last to play in the previous matchday and in the next one they play early on Saturday hosting Atlético Madrid (Riazor 16h15 CET); therefore the team is only completing four training sessions before the next game.

But it’s also true that it has been a sweet week after the victory in the Canary Islands. Coach Cristóbal Parralo is very happy with what he saw on Monday and, for now, he has been training with the same lineup that defeated UD Las Palmas.

Depor will still have three casualties for Saturday’s game: Carles Gil (pubalgy), Rubén Martínez (thumb) and Adrián López (shoulder). Keeper Rubén has lasted more of the time that was expected in order to be recovered from the hand injury sustained on deadline day, but he will receive the medical okay to play soon and should be available after the international break.

Meanwhile, Carles Gil continues evolving and Adrián has been working outside the pitch. Playmaker Emre Çolak sustained an ankle knock on Wednesday, but one day later he was working with the group.

Parralo said in an interview at La Voz de Galicia that the goalkeepers at the first team need to earn confidence and that he was happy with the performance of Costel Pantilimon on Monday, so it seems that Francis will stay at the B squad. Who will continue with the first team is centre midfielder Edu Expósito, he didn’t even perform with Fabril in midweek’s game at Pontevedra CF.

Atlético Madrid is passing through a delicate moment after the poor results in the Champions League, the papers are even talking of the worst moment since the arrival of coach Diego Simeone. The team continues to be a solid defence (only six goals allowed in liga), but some punctual errors have been really expensive, and in liga the Madrilenians are already eight points behind leaders FC Barcelona.

Despite the heavy calendar the team hasn’t been affected by the injuries. Two players won’t be available for the trip to the Riazor: winger Yannick Carrasco (knee) and playmaker Koke (muscle), while striker Diego Costa is unavailable as Atlético is banned and cannot inscribe players until the winter window.
