Seedorf has changed the routine at Abegondo as Depor are still searching for their first win in 2018. Sidnei is the only player that will miss the game. Betis arrive in a good moment, but missing key players.

Radical change at Deportivo. The big loss at Real Sociedad provoked the exit of Cristobal Parralo and the arrival of Clarence Seedorf. Since the home game against Real Betis (Monday, 21h00 CET) is going to be played ten days after the previous meeting, the new boss decided to make a short-term concentration lasting three days.

It took place between Tuesday and Thursday, with the team completing two training sessions per day, in the middle of each day the players were eating together during the lunch. It’s the identity of a coach trying to motivate a group of players already locked in a routine that was causing indifference.

The changes were beyond the schedule, because during the training sessions Seedorf has been doing things differently, on Tuesday he divided the group in defenders, midfielders and attackers, and two of these groups were united once in order to play before Fabril. The idea was to emphasize the defensive and offensive work remembering the players that they should be brining aids.

By Wednesday, the sessions were intense and with a hard charge of physical work, on Thursday the pace was more relaxed and on Friday the group worked tactical aspects. This fresh air will also reach the armband, starting on Monday the team will have a new captain that will be named by the new coach.

To complete the sense of novelty, a new face has been added to the team: Sulleyman Muntari. The Ghanaian joined the trainings on Friday and will be on trial until Seedorf decides if he will be inscribed or not. The Dutchman was the one that called the midfielder as both coincided at AC Milan, both with Seedorf as a player and as a coach.

The good news for Monday is that Seedorf will only have one casualty: Sidnei Rechel. The Brazilian centre-back remain out with a muscle injury on his left thigh and it’s probable that he will also skip the visit to Alavés. Meanwhile, midfielder Pedro Mosquera surpassed a thigh injury and should receive the okay from doctors on Sunday, while striker Florin Andone and midfielder Celso Borges return from suspension.

Real Betis arrive to the game in a calm situation, they have won three of the last five games and are only three points under the European zone. Coach Quique Setíen will be missing four players. Centre-back Zouhair Feddal is out for the rest of the season after suffering a serious Achilles injury in the last game against Villarreal CF.

Then strikers Joel Campbell and Toni Sanabria are out with a knee injury, the latter is one of the top-scorers at the team (7). Finally, ex-Depor Antonio Barragán is suspended after picking the fifth yellow card on the season.  Who will be available is Joaquín, the winger is returning from a suspension.
