THINKING OF VALENCIA CF

19 May 2018
Seedorf is only having seventeen men available for the game, once again there are problems at the centre of the defence. Schär won’t play. Valencia will have a party at Mestalla as the team returns to the Champions League.

Last Primera game for Deportivo, the Galicians visit Valencia CF (Mestalla, Sunday, 12h00 ET) in a matchday in which nothing is at stake.  Things are so settled in la liga that the Valencian club has released Zakaria Bakkali from the clause preventing him to play the game.

Still, coach Clarence Seedorf is not having enough men to complete the roster for the game. Up to eight men will be unavailable, starting with Celso Borges, who already left A Coruña m order to join the national team of Costa Rica ahead of the World Cup.

Meanwhile, Raúl Albentosa is suspended after picking a fifth yellow card during the game against Villarreal CF. Fabian Schär returns from suspension, but he didn’t train on Friday due to a hamstring problem and Seedorf already announced that he will be released now, so he can join the national team of Switzerland without any risks. Seedorf is having problems at the centre of the defence for the second straight week, this since there are no centre-backs available, and it’s highly probable that Fernando Navarro will keep playing there.

It isn’t expected that the coach is going to pick Fabril’s players for the game, because the second team is playing the playoff round, but Mujaid will debut as a starter despite Juvenil A is playing the returning-leg in Copa Del Rey.

The other five men are out injured: Fede Cartabia and Carles Gil with hamstring injuries, Eneko Bóveda and Sidnei Rechel with thigh problems, plus Florin Andone, who will miss a new game due to a groin injury.

Valencia CF arrive to the meeting with the sense that this has been a great season for them. Los Ches left a positive impression all year long and are already qualified for the UEFA Champions League, so a positive environment is expected in the always demanding Mestalla.

Coach Marcelino has two casualties for the game: midfielders Francis Coquelin (Achilles) and Andreas Pereira (ankle). Forward Ferran Torres is available after been concentrated with Spain’s U-18 squad. while left-back Toni Lato is also available after surpassing a muscle injury.
