Ángel Becerra was announced yesterday as the new technical secretary of Deportivo. He worked before with Carmelo Del Pozo and will be his main assistant. Ernesto Bello will remain at the club.

Deportivo announced on Monday that Ángel González Becerra is the new technical secretary of the club. He is replacing Ernesto Bello, who will continue working in the sporting direction.

Becerra coincided with Del Pozo at Real Betis and made almost his entire career at Poli Ejido, club where he started as a player and ended as a sporting director. After fifteen years there, he moved to Betis and then joined Extremadura UD in 2016.

The changes were already expected as Carmelo Del Pozo announced it before, “A new technical secretary will come and there will be a technical secretariat with enough people, both in A Coruña and in other areas. We understand that you have to create a network of recruitment so, at the moment of signing a player, he has been seen by many eyes. The more eyes see a player, the easier is to not get confused. I like to have a lot of information, but not only found by me. The idea is to surround myself with good professionals and assess what we already have within the club.”

Becerra talked about the subject as he said good-bye to Extemadura UD, “My next challenge is with Carmelo Del Pozo, we coincided at Betis and now is the current sporting director of Deportivo. He called me and want me to be with him, he wants me to be his technical secretary and is a challenge that I lived before at Betis, for two straight years at Segunda and one at Primera. I hope to be able to meet the expectations of my new club.”

Meanwhile, Ernesto Bello will join former Fabril’s coach Manu Mosquera and Anto Rodríguez at the technical secretariat. As Carmelo Del Pozo mentioned it before, the trio will be the one in A Coruña scouting players and following the progression from the academy players.
