The club confirmed on Thursday that Diego Rolán is going to play loaned at CD Leganés. The Madrilenians have a buyout option over the player.

The weird case of Diego Rolan lived a new [and definitive] chapter on Thursday as Deportivo announced that the striker has been loaned to Primera outfit CD Leganés. The deal is for one season and includes a buyout option.

It’s also known that CD Leganés is paying for the loan, but neither this amount nor the one of the buyout option was revealed. According to Sportpaper AS, the loan is costing €1 million to the Madrilenians, they will also pay the wages of the striker (€1 million), and the same source reported that the buyout option is €6 million. Later Radio Cadena Ser reported that the option is for more than €8 million.

Carmelo Del Pozo just stated that the operation is “very good” for Deportivo, this after talking to the media two hours before the deal was announced, “He’s a player that arrived with two scenarios; why? Because he is a top player and without an EU passport, something we need to look forward as the spots are reduced to two at Segunda. We want to avoid a situation in which we don’t have the control at the end of the market. The negotiations are advanced and it’s going to be a very good operation for us, also in a sporting sense as he will increase his value as he would play at Primera División.”

Rolan was signed on last season in a confusing operation with Girondins, firstly he was announced as a reinforcement for the team that was going to compete at Primera, and later ended playing loaned at Málaga CF. Then, two weeks ago, he showed up for the first training session without any official announcement, and now he is leaving. As Carmelo explained big part of the decision is related to the fact that the two foreign spots are already covered (Sidnei and Borges).

So, the player is a signing and also an exit in the same summer window. Carmelo Del Pozo already announced that this casualty won’t be covered with any other arrival, because the club has Christian Santos, Borja Valle and Quique González for the position, plus other men that can act as centre forward as Fede Cartabia and Pedro Sánchez.
