DIDIER MORENO SIGNS FOR DEPOR

17 Aug 2018
Depor announced the transfer of Borges, and also immediately announced that Colombian Didier Moreno is going to replace him. The midfielder arrives loaned with a buyout option.

After announcing the exit of Celso Borges, the club didn’t last time in announcing the name of his replacement: Didier Andrés Moreno. The 27-year-old midfielder is coming loaned from Independiente Medellín (DIM) with the deal including a buyout option. He will join the team on next week.

Moreno was the captain of Independiente Medellín and is considered as a defensive midfielder. He started his career with Independiente Santa Fe in 2011, club where he won the Torneo Apertura (2012) and the Colombian Superliga (2013).

After a short stage at Atletico Huila, he joined DIM in 2015. He ended making 117 league appearances for them and won The Torneo Apertura in 2016.  He never played in the national team of Colombia, but was a fixed starter with the U-20 team that played the 2011 World Cup (eliminated by Mexico in Quarterfinals) and that also won the Toulon Tournament in that same year.

Moreno is the fourth Colombian that plays for Depor after Brayan Angulo, Abel Aguilar and Marlos Moreno, and is also the tenth reinforcement for Deportivo ahead of the season 2018/19 after the signings of goalkeeper Dani Giménez, right-back David Simón, left-back Sebastián Dubarbier, centre-backs Pablo Mari and Domingos Duarte, winger Pedro Sánchez, strikers Christian Santos and Quique González, plus the return of midfielder Álex Bergantiños.
