The club announced on Friday the arrival of midfielder Vicente Gómez. It’s a final transfer from UD Las Palmas with the Galicians paying €600,000.

Just minutes after announcing the exit of Guilherme Dos Santos, Depor announced the signing of midfielder Vicente Gómez. The 29-year-old player is coming from UD Las Palmas signing a three-year contract after Depor paid €600,000.

Hours before the operation was announced, the president of UD Las Palmas, Miguel Ángel Ramírez announced that Vicente was leaving the club as he was depressed after the relegation of the Canarian side and that he needed “fresh air” and a new challenge.

Vicente is a Canarian midfielder that has made his whole professional career at UD Las Palmas.  He joined the C team in 2010 and since then completed 215 league appearances with the first team scoring 13 goals. He is considered as a pivote with the vision to direct the output of the ball, precisely what coach Natxo González was needing.

The Canarian is the eleventh reinforcement for Deportivo ahead of the season 2018/19 after the signings of goalkeeper Dani Giménez, right-back David Simón, left-back Sebastián Dubarbier, centre-backs Pablo Mari and Domingos Duarte, winger Pedro Sánchez, midfielder Didier Moreno strikers Christian Santos and Quique González, plus the return of midfielder Álex Bergantiños.
