PREVIEW: ALCORCÓN – DEPORTIVO (LIGA)

15 Sep 2018
Depor want to remain undefeated and want to avoid the ghosts of the first visit to Santo Domingo. Carles Gil enters in the only expected change at the lineup. The rival is full of familiar faces for the Galicians.

Referee: Aitor Ortega Gorostegui
Kick-off: 20h00 CET (Santo Domingo)

STATISTICS: GHOST FROM THE PAST
Depor arrive in good shape after adding 8 points in the first 4 games, the Galicians are one of the six teams that remain undefeated in the league. AD Alcorcón have had a decent start with 5 points in 4 meetings and only one defeat; actually they only allowed 2 goals so far, mark only improved by Málaga CF and RCD Mallorca (both with 1)..

Depor and AD Alcorcón only met twice in the past as both teams coincided in the last two Segunda seasons in which the Galicians recently suffered the relegation from the elite. On September 23, 2011 Depor suffered a devastating 4-0 loss at Santo Domingo. In that meeting Depor allowed 3 goals in the first 16 minutes, something unseen in the past 60 years.

At least Los Blanquiazules had some redemption for the Segunda season 2013/14 as they clinched a 1-2 win there (February 23, 2014). The goals in that meeting were scored by Juan Dominguez and Albert Lopo.

DEPORTIVO: BACK TO THE LEAGUE
With Depor already eliminated in Copa Del Rey, Natxo González is having less space to give an opportunity to the less habitual players in this start of season, and for the return to la liga he is only planning one change to the team that defeated Sporting Gijón on Sunday. It’s the appearance of Carles Gil in the playmaking function sending Krohn-Dehli to the bench.

Team news: Sebastian Dubarbier is out of the meeting after ending the game in Copa with a muscle injury on the left thigh. The left-back joins Borja Valle and Quique González at the injury room. Striker Christian Santos joined the team in Segovia after been concentrated with Venezuela and will start on the bench. The rest of the squad is available, though the coach will release the final list of 18 until Saturday.

Man to watch: Fede Cartabia. The Argentine playmaker was key in the victory over Sporting Gijón and also starred the reaction in Copa against Real Zaragoza, now the fans expect that he can be an important factor to close a week with three official matches in a frame of six days.

Picked players: Final roster to be released until one hour before the kick-off.

Predicted lineup: (4-3-1-2) Dani Giménez – David Simón, Pablo Mari, Domingos Duarte, Caballo – Vicente Gómez, Álex Bergantiños, Didier Moreno – Carles Gil – Cartabia, Carlos Fernández.

ALCORCÓN: FAMILIAR FACES
AD Alcorcón didn’t make too many changes during the pre-season and the club dreams with ending in the promotion zone, and among those changes the major part of them came from A Coruña. And it’s that three players and three coaches that were part of Depor in the recent past are now in Madrid. Laure, Bruno Gama and Borja Galán are now playing with the yellow short, the latter is the ex-winger of Fabril that left the club having a rebuy option for the Galicians.

Then the Madrilenian chose Cristobal Parralo as the head coach, the Andalusian was one of the three coaches that worked with the first team during last season, and he chose Javi Manjarín and Luis Fandiño as his assistants.  The duo worked with him too in A Coruña.

The mood is good inside the changing room after the team passed the round in Copa defeating Extremadura UD (1-0), Los Alfareros are expecting to present the same team compared to the one that drew at Córdoba CF (0-0).

Team news: Midfielder Borja Dominguez and striker David Mayoral are out for injury reasons, but Mauritanian Aly Abeid is back after been concentrated with his national team and should start at the left side of the defence.

Man to watch: Midfielder Albert Dorca. The Catalan centre midfielder arrived last season to AD Alcorcón and is proving to be lethal arriving from the second line, he ended as the top-scorer at the team with 7 goals in 30 league matches. Now he already scored once in 4 meetings.

Picked players: Roster will be released until Saturday

Predicted lineup: (4-5-1) Dani Jiménez - Laure, David Fernández, Esteban Burgos, Aly Abeid - Sangalli, Álvaro Peña, Toribio, Dorca, Nono – Jonathan Pereira.
