Long week for a Deportivo that’s losing Carlos Fernández due to the international break. Pedro Sánchez is already recovered and Borja Valle remains suspended.

Deportivo are still trying to enter into the first two positions despite dragging a mark of eight straight games without defeats, now the Galicians visit UD Almeria (Estadio de Los Juegos Mediterráneos, Monday, 21h00 CET)

It has been a long and weird week for Depor, first to all because there are nine days between the previous game and this one, later because the Teresa Herrera was played in midweek taking advantage of the international break.  In the end coach Natxo González gave two free days to the players and will have enough time to prepare the match in five training sessions.

The main news for the game is that Pedro Sánchez is recovered from the thigh injury suffered in the visit to UD Las Palmas. The playmaker joined the group on Friday, but could be left out of the match for precaution.

Who will miss the game are Sebastián Dubarbier, Carlos Fernández and Borja Valle. The Argentine left-back is in the last stage of his recovery process (thigh injury), the Andalusian striker is concentrated with U-21 Spain, while Valle is serving his last game of suspension.

The absence of Carlos Fernández is the most sensitive one and means that Natxo has to at least make a change to the starting eleven. His place should be taken by Christian Santos, who scored one  of the goals in the Teresa Herrera match against Athletic Club

At UD Almeria, the team coached by Fran Fernández is improving after a poor start in the league. The Andalusians chained four straight wins at home and are now four points under the promotion zone. The coach has a large squad composed by 25 men, but the team has been struck by four long-term casualties due to injuries.

Playmaker Gaspar Panadero is out since last season due to a knee ligaments injury. He received the medical okay from doctors, but will need some extra weeks before been fit to play. The other three men out are right-back Fran Rodríguez (knee ligaments), plus left-backs Samu de los Reyes and Nano (both ankle fracture). None of them are expected to play before the new year.

There’s a fifth casualty for the game against Deportivo and probably it’s the most sensitive one: Centre-midfielder Yan Eteki, the Cameroonian is suspended and is a key piece in the defensive system. He has been a starter in 8 of the 13 games played so far.
