Two coaches were fired in this matchday, eight in the ongoing season. AD Alcorcón are the leaders as the battle for promotion is raging.

Eight coaches have been sacked after only fourteen matchdays at Segunda División; two of them on this weekend after Córdoba’s José Ramón Sandoval and Sporting’s Rubén Baraja were sacked after the poor start of their teams.

AD Alcorcón are still living a sweet dream and retuned into the top spot after a suffered 1-0 win over Elche CF, the winning goal came with five minutes in the added time. Málaga CF also suffered, but jumped into the second spot thanks to a 2-0 win over bottom club Gimnástic Tarragona.

Meanwhile, Granada CF came back twice in the score visiting UD Las Palmas (2-2). Deportivo played a bad game, but rescued a point visiting UD Almeria (1-1). Albacete Balompié managed to add the three points with a late goal hosting CD Lugo (1-0), they are now three points below the Galicians.

CA Osasuna extended their positive streak to four straight victories thanks to a 2-0 win over CD Tenerife; better streak for Cádiz CF, side that clinched a 1-3 win at Córdoba CF to extend their rally to five straight wins. Both sides are now caressing the promotion spots.

RCD Mallorca also remain in the fight despite not adding too many victories lately; they were leading 0-2 at Real Zaragoza by minute 22, but ended 2-2 and added a fourth draw within their last five games in the competition.

Extremadura UD lived a dream after a 1-4 win visiting FC Reus, the four goals were scored by Enrich Gallego, but they remain in relegation. Rayo Majadahonda beat CD Numancia on the road (1-2) and are now closer to promotion than to relegation, while Real Oviedo succeeded in the Asturian derby dispatching Sporting Gijón (2-1); the latter are now only two points above the pit.

Leaders AD Alcorcón host Real Zaragoza, while fourth place Granada CF do the same with Sporting Gijón; both visiting team are living a bad moment, but arrive to the meetings with a new coach and willing to grow. Meanwhile, Deportivo host in-form CA Osasuna. Runners-up Málaga CF are the only leaders playing on the road as they visit Extremadura UD.
