According to the Portuguese media, Marcio Sousa, a player that's considered a 'lost promise' in his country is near to sign for Deportivo. He had a bright future in 2003, just after he scored the two goals that allowed Portugal to clinch the U-17 European title, but his performance felt down after that, now he's searching for a new start, and it could be in La Coru?a, for the moment it seems he's coming for Fabril, a squad struggling with the injuries.

Marcio Sousa (21) was described as the 'Portuguese Maradona' for his skills to elude the rivals, and it was that this left-footed talent lead Portugal to clinch a victory over Spain during the UEFA U-17 championship that was played in the year 2003 -he scored two games in the final- his career was promising and had a contract with local giant club Porto FC. But his performance felt down and Porto released him, after that, he spent the following years at Sporting Covilha and Vizela (Segunda Divisi??n).

He even failed to gain a place at Vizela and later he signed for UD Rio Maior, always in Segunda Divisi??n. And now it seems that Sousa might have a chance to return to the elite, he appeared in sportpaper Bola affirming to have a deal with Deportivo "I will travel on Monday to La Coru?a in order to pass the medical tests. It seems I'm going to join the B squad, but I'm prepared to play with the first team." Were his declarations. It seems that the scouts of Deportivo witnessed the copa game F??tima-Rio Maior and they are now convinced about the skills of the player. However, hasn't confirmed yet the deal with the Portuguese club.

Sousa has been described as a skilful player that can perform as a playmaker, right winger and striker. He knows how to organise the offensive game and possess the capacity to shot from long-distance, he is also good scoring goals in free-kicks. In the year 2004, he had the chance to be sited in the bench of Porto's first squad during a liga game with Baia, but Mourinho didn't use him in that occasion.
