The first three places combined have the second-best mark of points on this century; AD Alcorcón is slowing down while the last places are still struggling.

The fight for promotion at Liga 1|2|3 is promising to be tough, and that can be noticed by the large numbers of teams fighting at the top and the number of points added by the first places. And it’s that the first three places combined already added 108 points, which is the second highest mark on this century only below the three leaders from season 2012/13 (112 points).

Granada CF remain at the top after chaining a third straight victory, and again a suffered one as Adrián Ramos’ goal came until minute 83 to surpass Real Oviedo (1-0). Deportivo returned to the second place after dispatching Real Zaragoza at the Riazor (3-1), while Málaga CF struggled but managed to overcome in-form Cádiz CF (1-0).

The side that’s slowing down is AD Alcorcón; the Madrilenians claimed the advantage, but ended losing visiting CA Osasuna (2-1). It’s their third straight defeat and now they are fifth at the standings. Albacete Balompié remain plugged into the fight and their 1-2 victory at CD Numancia put them at the fourth spot.

Sporting Gijón continued with its progression and defeated RCD Mallorca (1-0), it’s their third win within the last four matchdays and now they are only four points below the promotion zone. The side that remains stuck is UD Las Palmas, the Canarian derby with CD Tenerife ended 1-1and the recently relegated side remains five points below the promotion zone.

Elche CF remain pushing up and added a third straight game without losing, in this matchday they beat Rayo Majadahonda on the road (1-3).
