MATCHDAY 21: TIGHT COMPETITION

15 Jan 2019
The first round at Segunda División ended with a tight race, both at the top and at the bottom of the standings, nothing is decided at the midpoint of the season.

As it was expected the competition at Liga 1|2|3 is very tight. The first round has just ended and only a few points are separating the teams. The first place and the seventh are only separated by seven points. Precisely both teams faced each other in the last matchday, Granada CF ended as the winners of the first round after a valuable point visiting Cádiz CF (0-0).

Albacete Balompié ended as the runners-up after a 1-1 draw at home against Sporting Gijón. Los Manchegos have now spent twelve games without losing. Málaga CF jumped into the third place after a great win visiting Real Zaragoza (0-2).

Deportivo extended their negative streak after a 1-0 loss visiting RCD Mallorca. This is their third defeat on the season, the second within the last three matchdays. AD Alcorcón remain fifth after a disappointing 0-0 at home against UD Almeria.

The promotion zone is closed with CA Osasuna, the Navarrans suffered their worst defeat on the season visiting UD Las Palmas (4-1). Real Oviedo is also in the fight after a 1-0 victory hosting CD Tenerife. The Asturians have added seven of the last nine points in dispute.
