20 Jan 2019
Natxo González prepares a new switch to the system, Carlos Fernández passed a late test and is available. The rival arrives to the Riazor after spending twelve games without defeats.

Referee: Iñaki Vicandi Garrido
Kick-off: 18h00 CET (Riazor)

STATISTICS: THE BEST STREAKS
Deportivo and Albacete Balompié share a positive statistic during this Segunda season: they have enjoyed of the best streaks in the tournament. The Galicians spent thirteen straight games without losing, within matchdays 06 &18 they added seven wins and six draws, this is the best streak had by any Segunda team on the campaign.

Meanwhile, Los Albinegros are about to tie the mark as they are currently living a positive streak of twelve games without losing (seven wins and five draws). They are also the second-best visiting team in the league with 18 points added after 10 visits (Granada CF are the best with 19 points in 11 away meetings).

Albacete have never won at the Riazor after nine league visits; they lost seven times there and only picked two draws, the last one in the previous visit to A Coruña: 0-0 for the Primera season 2004/05.  Also, they have remained scoreless in their last three visits to the Riazor.

DEPORTIVO: NEW SWITCH
Coach Natxo González is still trying to find a way to recover the previous form of Deportivo, after changing the draw at Cádiz CF, and after some changes in names keeping the 4-3-1-2 figure, he has now prepared a switch into a 4-3-3 system.

Ironically it’s a draw that needs wingers, but precisely that’s the position that wasn’t signed during the summer, so the coach is improvising with Borja Valle and Fede Cartabia but for him it isn’t a problem as he explained during an interview at La Voz de Galicia, “Fede can play as a winger, Borja [Valle] can play as winger. Quique performs as a winger, so we have enough options to play with wingers.”

Team news: Carlos Fernández and Christian Santos passed a late test on Saturday and were included in the roster for the game. Therefore Pedro Sánchez and Michael Krohn-Dehli are the only players at the injury room. Dubarbier and Carles Gil are out for tactical reasons, the latter seems to be negotiating his exit from the club.

Man to watch: Playmaker Fede Cartabia. Constantly described by the media as the best player in the league, the true is that the Argentinean has shown too little on the season, mainly because of the injuries that are cutting his form. Only once he was a starter within December and January, and it was in the previous meeting with RCD Mallorca, game in which he passed unnoticed. Now Depor need him in order to find again an identity, and he will perform as a winger this time, just like last season with Seedorf.

Picked players: (19) Dani Giménez, Adrián Ortolá (goalkeepers); Eneko Bóveda, David Simón, Domingos Duarte, Pablo Mari, Michelle Somma, Diego Caballo, Saúl García (defenders); Edu Expósito, Pedro Mosquera, Vicente Gómez, Álex Bergantiños, Didier Moreno, Fede Cartabia (midfielders); Quique González, Christian Santos, Carlos Fernández & Borja Valle (attackers).

Predicted lineup: (4-3-3) Dani Giménez – David Simón, Domingos Duarte, Pablo Mari, Saúl García – Edu Expósito, Álex Bergantiños, Vicente Gómez – Borja Valle, Quique González, Cartabia.

ALBACETE: THE REVELATION
The pools among the fans and media have put Albacete Balompié as the revelation in la liga, a club with a mid-term salary cap (11th lowest in the league) that plays with the typical 4-2-3-1without having big names, but that has shown enough consistency to clinch twelve games without losing and to lie at the second place at the standings.

Coach Luis Miguel Ramis was saying that the key for this has been the professional behavior of the players, “There are many factors, especially their level of professionalism and demand, which is very high. It’s a very committed group, which is very close, homogeneous, in which nobody goes out of the way, neither those who accumulate more minutes nor those who accumulate less. They work well every week and they understand perfectly what I want from them, they are very intelligent. Perhaps the key word can be professionalism.”

Team news: Midfielder Jon Erice didn’t recover from a knock and is out of the game. But striker Roman Zozulya and midfielder Eugeni Valderrama were fit and are expected to start. New signing Álvaro Peña was picked for the game after been signed on Thursday.

Man to watch: Winger Jérémie Bela. The last defeat of Albacete came on matchday 9 (2-1 at Málaga CF), since that day this French attacker has scored 6 of the 17 goals netted by the team and they have remained undefeated. Now Bela is the offensive reference attacking from the right wing and is also the top-scorer at the team (7).

Picked players: (18), José Antonio Caro, Tomeu Nadal (goalkeepers); Álvaro Arroyo, Fran García, Mathías Olivera, José Antonio Caro, Santiago Gentiletti, Álvaro Tejero (defenders); Néstor Susaeta, Aleix Febas, Mickaël Malsa, Eugeni Valderrama, Álvaro Peña, Jérémie Bela (midfielders); Alfredo Ortuño, Roman Zozulya, Carlos Acuña & Rey Manaj (attackers)

Predicted lineup: (4-2-3-1) Tomeu Nadal – Tejero, Arroyo, Gentiletti, Olivera – Ortuño, Mickaël Malsa – Bela, Eugeni, Acuña – Zozulya.
