Busy deadline day for Depor, but Natxo González could end up without having 18 men available for the game. CD Tenerife are having problems with the injuries as Oltra returns to the Riazor.

Deportivo will try to clinch three straight victories for the first time on the season as it hosts CD Tenerife (Riazor, Saturday, 20h30 CET).  The attention has been more focused in the transfer window and the problems with the injuries.

Regarding the injuries, coach Natxo González welcomes the game having mixed news. There are three players that are doubtful and that weren’t expected to be available this weekend: Cartabia, Saúl García and Krohn-Dehli.

Fede Cartabia ended the game at Sporting Gijón having muscle issues, it was feared he could miss the game, which will be a sensitive casualty due to other absences, but the Argentine playmaker was training with the group and could even be a starter. Meanwhile, left-back Saúl Garcia (hamstring) and midfielder Krohn-Dehli (muscle) have also advanced their return and trained with the group during the week. The three of them will be assessed on Friday before releasing the roster for the game.

The bad news is that Carlos Fernández ended the game at El Molinón with a new muscle problem, the club didn’t inform about the seriousness of the case, but a report at La Voz de Galicia was talking of a grade II muscle injury on the left thigh, it would mean that the striker is out for six weeks.

Other two men are already out of the game due to injury reasons and a suspension. Playmaker Pedro Sánchez (muscle) remain training apart, while centre midfielder Vicente Gómez is suspended after picking a fifth yellow against Sporting (Carlos Fernández is also suspended for the same reason).

In the end Natxo González could end only having 17 men available if Cartabia, Saúl and Krohn-Dehli aren’t cleared to play. The number will depend of the status of the three doubtful players and also the shape of the new signings.

And it’s that the club announced on Thursday the arrival of right winger Nahuel Leiva and centre-back Iñigo López. The latter already passed the medicals and should join the trainings on Friday, while the second is pending to arrive to A Coruña.

The visit of CD Tenerife means the return of José Luis Oltra, who directed the successful promotion campaign 2011/12.  The ex-Depor boss is having problems at his team due to the injuries. There are four cases affecting the team since some weeks ago. Centre-back Mauro dos Santos and left-back Samuel Camille were already out due to muscle injuries. They are joined by other two long-term cases: midfielder Aitor Sanz (Achilles) and striker Nano Mesa (hernia).

At least winger Paco Montañes and centre midfielder Luis Milla (knee) were recovered after been dragging problems at the start of the week. The Canarians have been busy during the winter window and completed five signings: centre-back Mauro dos Santos (Leganés), striker Fernando Coniglio (Huracán), centre midfielders Borja Lasso (Sevilla), and Uroš Račić (Valencia), plus winger Isma López (Omonia Nicosia).

Isma López arrived on Thursday and wasn’t included in the roster for the game, while Mauro dos Santos arrived injured and is out for a few weeks. The other three new arrivals are making the trip to A Coruña. Centre-back Jorge Sáenz was mentioned as a possible signing of Valencia CF, but in the end he is staying and will play at the Riazor.
