THINKING OF REAL OVIEDO

Carlos Fernández returns, but Natxo González Will miss Edu Expósito and Pablo Mari. The rival comes after a painful defeat in the Asturian derby and needs the points to keep their promotion aspirations.

Deportivo are still trying to find its best football; the month of March has been a real disappointment after the team was only able to add 2 of the 9 points disputed at the Riazor. Now it has leave home in order to face a rival that’s trying to enter into the promotion zone: Real Oviedo (Carlos Tartiere, Sunday, 18h00 CET).

Coach Natxo González has been boosted with the return of Carlos Fernández, the striker has received the medical okay to play after been facing continuous muscle problems and now he is even considered in order to be a starter.  Left-back Diego Caballo is also returning after serving a suspension.

But there are problems too. Starting with the fact that Edu Expósito is not available. The midfielder has been important in recent months and is out of the game as he is serving the last match of his two-game suspension.

Then the situation with Pablo Mari. The centre-back hasn’t trained with the group during this week and the club reported that he suffered a muscle injury on his left thigh. It’s highly probable that he will skip the game. Michael Krohn-Dehli is also out of the meeting, though is already training on the pitch after surpassing the Achilles injury that has kept him at bay since January.

At Real Oviedo, the team is still assimilating the defeat in the derby against Sporting Gijón. There was controversy inside and outside the pitch, to the point that the club decided to break the official contacts with their neighbor after thee fans publicly denounced a harsh treatment at El Molinón. This game is very important for them as they still out of the playoff zone and need to add the three points.

Coach Juan Antonio Anquela is having three important casualties for the game. Left winger Omar Ramos is out with a muscle problem, while centre midfielder Javi Muñoz and centre-back Carlos Hernández are suspended. The latter will be probably be replaced by Juan Forlin, who hasn’t played since November due to a fibula fracture. Attacker Sergio Tejera is doubtful after skipping the last two sessions due to a knock.
