PREVIEW: DEPORTIVO – RAYO MAJADAHONDA (LIGA)

Depor return to the Riazor using the diamond the figure and trying to clean the ghost of the home games. Rayo Majadahonda land in A Coruña trying to clear the way to the permanence.

STATISTICS: GAINING FORM
At the end of January, Rayo Majadahonda was a team in troubles after been unable to win for nine straight games, but coach Antonio Iriondo managed to pull a reaction and his men won 4 of the last 7 games. Now they are 7 points above the pit. And their current form is better than Depor’s one after adding 10 of the last 18 points in dispute, it’ the 8th mark in the period and it means two more points than the Galicians.

Meanwhile, Deportivo return to the Riazor after been unable to win in their last five home meetings; it’s the worst streak with the Galician team at Segunda División. since the eight straight games without winning at home from the campaign 1987/1988.

Despite the negative mark, Depor remain to be a solid team as it isn’t losing too often; actually, the Galicians have only be trailing in the games for 75 minutes during the second round. It’s the second-best mark in the league only behind UD Las Palmas (68).

DEPORTIVO: THE DIAMOND FIGURE
Deportivo didn’t improve too much in the recent visit to Real Oviedo, but coach Natxo González is determined to continue using the diamond figure that brought better results in the first round. For this game there will be changes as Pablo Mari is fit to play and as Edu Expósito returns from a suspension.

Team news: Fede Cartabia passed a late test and was included in the roster for the game. Michael Krohn-Dehli is the only player at the injury room, while Álex Bergantiños is suspended. The players out for tactical reasons are Pedro Mosquera, Saúl Garcia, Iñigo López & Sebastian Dubarbier.

Man to watch: Striker Carlos Fernández. The Andalusians attacker demonstrated against Real Oviedo that Deportivo is a different team when he appears in attack, he will try to help the team to break the spell at the Riazor as he will try, once again, to combine with Quique González up front.

RAYO MAJADAHONDA: POSITIVE SEASON
Playing for the first time at the second-tier, Rayo Majadahonda are doing an acceptable job despite been the fourth lowest salary cap in the league. Within the last month and a half, they finally started to score goals and therefore to win matches.

In four of their last six games they have scored at least twice and managed to add three wins in their last six games, now they are seven points above the drop zone and are facing the definitive stage towards the permanence.

Team news: Coach Antonio Iriondo is missing playmaker Verza and centre-back David Andújar, the first is out with a knock and the second is suspended. Right-back Ernesto Galán was doubtful due to an Achilles problem but made it to the final roster.

Man to watch: Attacker Aitor Rubial. One of the reasons for the recent good form of Rayo Majadahonda in the league. He is the top-scorer at the squad, and six of his nine goals came in 2019, he scored braces in two of his last appearances as a visitant, including both goas in the 2-2 draw against UD Almeria.
