In a surprising turn, Tino Fernández and his board of directors have decided to leave the club. There will be an extraordinary shareholders meeting in the near future in order to present their resignation.

The crisis of results at Deportivo is getting deeper inside the club, on Monday the club surprisingly announced that Tino Fernández and his board of directors will resign in the coming weeks. The announcement comes after a rain of criticism with the first team dragging a mark of nine games without winning and already four points below the playoff zone.

Deportivo’s crisis is deeper considered that the other teams at the club, apart from the female squad, are having a nightmare of a season. Fabril are already relegated to Tercera, result that pushed Laracha CF to Regional, while the Juvenile and Cadetes teams had mediocre campaigns too.

The most probable scenario now is to call an extraordinary shareholders meeting in the coming two weeks, according to the rules of the club it should take place fifteen days after been called. In this meeting the board will present their resignation and new elections will be called. So, this meeting should be taking place in June, and this means that the current board will stay working at the club until the end of the season as the intention is to start the new campaign with a new management.

Just nine months ago the current board won a 5-year reelection after getting the 99% of the votes, now they ready to step aside after the disastrous sporting results. Together with Tino, the men that are leaving the club are board members Daniel Ramos, Juan José Jaén, Martín Pita, Enrique Calvete and Ramón Piña.
