New sorrow for Deportivo and new obligation to win. The Galicians are wasting the chances to reach the promotion and face a new rival in need.

It has been a week full of doubts and uncertainty, the defeat against Extremadura UD unleashed a new crisis with the unexpected renounce of Tino Fernández and his board of directors, and with the team four points under the playoff zone, now it’s time to search for the needed results in back-to-back games on the road, starting with the visit to CD Numancia (Friday, 21h00 CET).

With only four days to prepare the game, coach José Luis Martí and his players have decided to maintain silence. All the questions regarding the exit of the board will not be answered as they prefer to focus in the delicate situation in liga. Still, the president and sporting director Carmelo Del Pozo have visited them.

There are two confirmed casualties for the game, Michael Krohn-Dehli remains out with an Achilles injury and Pablo Mari, who is suspended after picking a fifth yellow in the previous game at the Riazor.

Meanwhile, David Simón will probably join them as the right-back remains out with a muscle problem. Carlos Fernández has surpassed his muscle issues and has been training with the group since Monday, but the coaching staff will decide on Thursday if he will be picked for the meeting. Borja Valle skipped two sessions due to a groin problem, but he joined the group on Wednesday.

At CD Numancia, the team coached by Aritz López Garai is in crisis after only winning one of the last eight games, for this reason they passed form been at mid-table to now only stand three points above demotion.

And López Garai is having big problems with the casualties for Friday’s game. Midfielder Marc Mateu, centre-back Derik Osede and left winger Alain Oyarzun are out injured, while keeper Juan Carlos and right-back Unai Medina are suspended. The absence of Oyarzun is important as he was the man that revolutionized the game of the first round at the Riazor giving two assists that turned the 2-0 into a 2-2.

Meanwhile, centre midfielder Pape Diamanka is doubtful after picking a knock in the last game at Cádiz CF. This would be another important casualty as he is the top-scorer at the team with nine goals in favour. The only good news is that playmaker Fran Villalba returns form suspension, he is considered a vital man in attack.
