Two teams in deep problems need the three points, Depor are in a crisis that already reached the presidency, but Martí recovers Carlos Fernández. Numancia want to avoid problems with demotion and pray for Diamanka.

Referee: Luis Mario Milla Alvendiz
Kick-off: 21h00 CET (Nuevo Los Pajaritos)

Both Deportivo and CD Numancia are facing an inopportune lack of form that’s affecting their goals in this last stretch of season. Deportivo are dragging three straight defeats and haven’t won -on the pitch- any of the last nine games, for this reason the Galicians have passed from aspiring to direct promotion to now lie four points below the playoff zone.

Meanwhile, CD Numancia have passed from having aspirations to reach the playoff zone to be now a new club involved in the fight to avoid demotion. The team from Soria has only won one of its last eight games and the recent defeat at Cádiz CF left them only three points above the pit.

This is the seventh visit of Deportivo to Los Pajaritos playing in a league competition; the Galicians won three of the previous six games played there, though the last one was a 2-1 defeat during the Segunda campaign 2013/14.

This is probably the worst moment at Deportivo within the last three decades, because the team is not only having problems on the Segunda pitches, but also faces a crisis outside the fields, with a big question mark surrounding the direction of the club. The future resignation of Tino Fernández is a blow for a financial situation that seemed under control and opens a total new scenario for next campaign with new elections to take place in June.

For now, the board of directors will stay until the final days of the season and the players and coaches need to be more worried of recovering their past form if they don’t want to lose the train of the promotion, even if it is through the playoffs.

Team news: There are massive changes in the roster for the game. The two starters at midfield against Extremadura UD, Didier Moreno and Vítor Silva, were not even picked for this game, while Carlos Fernández passed a late test and is available. Saúl García and Iñigo López are also back, the latter as Pablo Mari is suspended. Michael Krohn-Dehli and David Simón are the players at the injury room. Sebastian Dubarbier is the other player out for tactical reasons.

Man to watch: Edu Expósito. Deportivo need to regain its offensive football and this goes through recovering one of its best passers (1,022 passes completed on the season).  Now it’s expected that the ex-Fabril is going to start at midfield, the part of the field where he is more effective.

Picked players: (19) Dani Giménez, Adrián Ortolá (goalkeepers); Eneko Bóveda, Domingos Duarte, Michele Somma, Iñigo López, Diego Caballo, Saúl García (defenders); Edu Expósito, Álex Bergantiños, Pedro Mosquera, Vicente Gómez, Pedro Sánchez, Fede Cartabia (midfielders); Nahuel Leiva, Quique González, Carlos Fernández, Christian Santos & Borja Valle (attackers).

Predicted lineup: (4-2-3-1) Dani Giménez – Bóveda, Domingos Duarte, Somma, Caballo – Álex Bergantiños, Mosquera - Cartabia, Edu Expósito, Borja Valle – Quique González.
CD Numancia are living a similar situation than Deportivo, because their last results are so negative that already changed their picture of the season.  Two months ago, Los Numantinos had some aspirations to reach the playoff zone, now they are desperate to clear the ghost of demotion. And big part of the problems comes with the late goals allowed.

Los Rojillos have conceded goals starting at minute 85 in three games in a row, and dropped three golden points in those meetings. Totally the team already dropped eleven points due to late goals conceded this season. A burden that could cost a spot at Segunda that they have had within the last decade. Coach Aritz López Garai has said that he hasn’t been able to find an explanation for these late goals as all of them came in different kinds of plays.

Team news: López Garai will wait until Friday to release the roster for the game, because is hoping to recover Pape Diamanka, who on Thursday trained for the first time on the week. He is even expecting to recover Marc Mateu and centre-back Derik Osede, but it’s not probable. Keeper Juan Carlos and right-back Unai Medina are suspended, so 21-year-old goalie Gaizka Campos will make his debut.

Man to watch: Midfielder Pape Diamanka. The top-scorer of the team in liga, seven of his nine goals came in 2019 and the presence of the Senegalese is so important that the coach will wait until Friday to decide the roster for the game.

Picked players: Roster to be released on Friday

Predicted lineup: (4-3-3) Gaizka Campos - Nacho, Atienza, Gutiérrez, Ganea - Diamanka, Escassi, Guedes – Yeboah, David Rodríguez, Fran Villalba.
