Final step before Primera for either Deportivo or RCD Mallorca. Both teams are trying to be cautious and didn’t release a roster for the game. Pablo Mari returns and will be a starter, also Vicente Gómez.

Referee: Valentín Pizarro Gómez
Kick-off: 21h00 CET (Son Moix)

Deportivo have to protect a two-goal lead in order to reach Primera División. The last time the Galicians wasted a similar advantage was in the Intertoto 2005 when they passed from a 2-0 into a 1-5 in the controversial tie with Olympique Marseille.

Meanwhile, RCD Mallorca need to at least score three goals and not concede anything if they want to avoid the extra time, the only time this season in which Depor allowed three goals in one single game was in the 0-3 defeat at Cádiz CF (December 22).

The last time the Majorcans overcame a two-goal disadvantage in a tie of an official tournament was for the Copa Del Rey 2011/12. They lost 2-0 to Real Sociedad in the third round and won the second leg 6-1.

Deportivo are caressing Primera División just ten months after starting this new cycle at Segunda, it’s the last game on the season and the Galicians were lucky to find their best form in this key moment, but they were also lucky to not been affected by injuries and suspensions. But that’s changing for this last game.

Coach Jose Luis Martí gave a high importance to the issue and started to make rotations as soon as the team started to play two games per week, Depor managed to keep the same performance, but in the final game it’s affected by the injuries and tiredness. Up to four men are out injured and others are dragging issues, it’s hard to give a proper number, because the club didn’t inform about the cases and neither provided a full list of players traveling for the game.

Team news: The club didn’t release a roster for the trip to Majorca, it was only said that the full squad is traveling for the game. The sure thing is that Michael Krohn-Dehli, Álex Bergantiños, Vitor Silva and Michele Somma are at the injury room and will not take part of the meeting. Pablo Mari is fit to play and goes directly into the starting eleven, while men like Cartabia and Dani Giménez are dragging issues.

Man to watch: Midfielder Vicente Gómez. The Canarian lost protagonism within the last stretch of the season, but the exit of Álex Bergantiños is putting him on the spotlight. He will be the partner of Edu Expósito in a game in which Depor must hold on the ball at midfield if the Galicians don’t want to suffer.

Picked players: (24) Dani Giménez, Adrián Ortolá (goalkeepers); David Simón, Eneko Bóveda, Domingos Duarte, Michelle Somma, Pablo Mari, Diego Caballo, Saúl García, Sebastián Dubarbier (defenders); Edu Expósito, Álex Bergantiños, Víctor Silva, Michael Krohn-Dehli, Didier Moreno, Pedro Mosquera, Vicente Gómez, Pedro Sánchez, Fede Cartabia (midfielders); Nahuel Leiva, Quique González, Carlos Fernández, Christian Santos & Borja Valle (attackers).

Predicted lineup: (4-4-2) Dani Giménez – Bóveda, Domingos Duarte, Pablo Marí, Saúl García – Cartabia, Álex Bergantiños, Edu Expósito, Pedro Sánchez – Carlos Fernández, Quique González.
The chance of returning to Primera was as unexpected as rewarding for a club that’s coming from Segunda B, perhaps the hope was so big that the defeat at the Riazor caused a big frustration that pushed the fans and the media to criticize the referees without valid arguments. And it’s that the attention in the Balearic Islands is more focused in trying to blame someone else than trying to explain why the team lost the calm after the first goal, or to explain why they ended the meeting without completing a shot on target. Still, the Majorcans are dreaming with the promotion and a full stadium is expected in the attempt to reverse the current situation.

Team news: Coach Vicente Moreno will have to introduce changes at the starting formation. Marc Pedraza was suspended for two games after been sent off in the first leg, while the coach confessed that Salva Sevilla was replaced due to muscle issues and that he wasn’t sure if he will be fit for this game. It’s also expected that Ante Budimir is going to start in attack. They neither released a roster for the game, only stated that the full team will be at the stadium.

Man to watch: Winger Lago Junior. RCD Mallorca need goals and the Ivorian attacker is the top-scorer at the team, though only 3 of his 11 goals on the season came in 2019.  He needs to show his best version if the Majorcans want to reach Primera.

Picked players: (22) Manolo Reina, Leandro Montagud (goalkeepers); Joan Sastre, Franco Russo, Xisco Campos, Fran Gámez, Salva Ruiz, Antonio Raíllo, Martin Valjent, Pervis Estupiñán (defenders); Salva Sevilla, Iddrisu Baba, Dani Rodríguez, Juan Molina ‘Stoichkov’, Pablo Valcarce (midfielders); Ariday Cabrera, Abdón Prats, Álex López, Sergio Buenacasa, Nikola Stojiljković, Ante Budimir & Lago Junior (attackers).

Predicted lineup: (4-4-2) Reina - Joan Sastre, Valjent, Raíllo, Estupiñán – Leo Suárez, Baba, Salva Sevilla, Dani Rodríguez - Lago Junior, Budimir.
